Litecoin, Namecoin, Novacoin, Peercoin... everything went up significantly in the last 24 hrs while bitcoin is standing there holding its d*ck and hovering around 800. Everytime I invest in something everything else goes up....  I'm sorry guys, but I really believe I ruined it for everyone by getting into bitcoin because this is just how my luck always plays out... always. The forces of nature does everything in its power to make sure I never get lucky

Half of the other alt coins are being inflated through pump and dump schemes (e.g. NVC, possibly NMC) and others are rising on general speculation. Litecoin is a different case. I've long been of the opinion that the cryptocurrency market isn't zero-sum, nor is it 'winner takes all'; in order to maintain liquidity outside of fiat, a second cryptocurrency is necessary to absorb market fluctuations in XBT, thus bringing stability by smoothing out panics. This is the heart of the LTC-as-silver argument.

to be fair most alts were ridiculously underpcied
I mean coins with communities, services, designs,going for cents and fractions of cents while bitcoin was like $600

also people panicked and believed hype that btc was going to $35k each in one hit lol
it may, one day, who knows but nothing goes up like an arrow and never goes down, bitcoin never has and never will
it's altcoins overdue catchup

tbh if you hold then the huge rise will come for btc I'm sure

it's best to hold coins rather than keep buying sand selling imo

hold your btc, say 75% and have a play with 25% of your btc in some alts you think underpriced

again, be prepared to hold for months imo at least

great coins, bright futures, honest coins with great communities

and I can promise you megacoin is going to be blowing people away in coming weeks/months

It was inevitable, people will always go to the next best thing when something gets too expensive. There always seems to be a small knock-on / trickle down effect when each currency rises.  There's probably a bigger mark up to be made backing one of the other up-and-coming cryptos now whilst they're still cheap. FTC is still under 50 cents and I bought in at 12 cents so it's worth a pop in grabbing what you can afford.

Guess when electricity is at it's cheapest, people mine more, which causes people pump more coins into the crypto economy. Plus the demand seems to get higher from Fall to Winter time also. Summer and Spring seems to be the down time for cryptos....

Do you live by a coast or major city? Usually that applies to expensive areas and coastal areas. I live the the Northern California valley. Rates are cheapest in the winter, because there is no peak hours prices during that time period.

That's what exactly I'm doing right now....lol....GPU mining and CPU mining. Got 8 computers in my room on...lol....My electric heater is on the corner of my room collecting dust....lol
