It is possible given that ethereum is also a good crypto like Bitcoin. But if this thing would happen , I bet it there would be years to come due to the huge gap on their market value and as well as the negative market situation at this moment. Also, there is a possibility for ripple to be on the line since it have made history recently

It could happen but the chances are very low. Just going by the huge difference in coin supply of both these coins, it wll be a market anomaly. Bitcoin is likely to remain the leader for a long time.

I know bitcoin is a crypto king but I have more hope with ethereum that has a better network than bitcoin, even more ethereum transactions than bitcoin. so I think ethereum can overtake bitcoin only takes a long time

With this current Ethereum performance in which it was much affected by the bearish market too therefore we could see that it is impossible for Ethereum to supersede Bitcoin. Personally I think it is reasonably likely that ETH will pass BTC in market cap, but this is likely to happen only once smart contracts become more established in everyday life. I think that will lead to an ETH surge. As for ETH overtaking BTC in individual coin price, that's obviously less likely... but again in crypto nothing is certain.

well, for now, it becomes vague. currently the price of ETH is really far from the price of bitcoin, and bitcoin is also becoming unstable. well, for now, it's still very difficult to see that happen. maybe in the near future, we can see that whether ETH can exceed bitcoin or not.

At first I am confident that ethereum can surpass bitcoin in the #1 cryptocurrency. But that was the time Ethereum is very popular and their platform and application are popular around the cryptoworld. It is because he's an ethereum supporter and possibly an all-in to ethereum.

It won't happen unless all the bitcoin people are going to throw their money to Ethereum. I'm holding ethereum but I'm not going to be against the king. That's an unending debate but at the very end of the discussion its very unlikely that ETH will have btc's throne. Its possible that ethereum would hit all time high's same as bitcoin but will never surpass it.

You aren't sure but you have given a very solid reason for that. Bitcoin has shown that despite the good or bad market, it is still number one and can not be replaced.

There is only a slight possibility that ethereum can cross bitcoin. It will take a long time before it happens. For now, bitcoin will still dominate the cryptoworld.

We know that it is not possible to predict the future. We can predict the future and the performance of any asset that has revealed and visible factors that determine its progress. But about the cryptocurrency, it is a bit difficult in the sense that we cannot see the effect of all the factors over the crypto market.

And speculations not backed by a good analysis is nothing. But looking at the demand for the technology and the growth that was witnessed in the past, we can predict it to grow as high as Bitcoin has.

I think eth won’t be able to cross btc, ever. I know that ethereum is a coin that has potential to grow in the future. However, btc will stay strong and at the top. Though we can’t exactly say, we can’t predict the future. Still, both of these coins fuels each other to rise.

eth 2.0 ? what's that? is it a fork of the original eth ? if it is then i dont think that can potentially surpass the current value of btc because as on what ive noticed all forked coins do only have a median value  .

now when we compare eth vs btc , for sure many will agree that eth were slightly better because it is verry useful on both sides ( i.e payment/currency and asset purposes ) but for a long time of their existence , eth value is only becoming stable therfor i dont think it can increase too much high . so overall  i dont believe that eth will cross btc someday not even in the future .

It seems to me that the ethereum will be hard to beat last year's Bitcoin records, but nevertheless it does not mean that the ethereum will not be able to take a leading position in the cryptocurrency market.
