I honestly think it's what is fueling the problem.
we all kind of overlook that this forum, is the central authority.

everytime I come here I think about doing drastic shit, either sell sell sell or buy buy buy!

there is a certain kind of derangement happening here.

plus, it is the main source for info gathering and psywar.

I can only advise it be completely locked for a few days so no one can login.
if anyone needs information they could just search the forum with google.

The Antithesis of what? You need to relate it to something to make any sense.

this forum is the antithesis.
Here in America, there is something called the first amendment.
It says your allowed to voice your opinion, and that the government isin't allowed to stop the spread of information.
Right now, these forums are something along the lines of Bitcoin's defacto government. Shut them down for the reason your thinking, and you get a lot of people mad.

The World's Worst Forum: http://www.bombshock.com/forum/general-discussion/10410-worlds-worst-forum.html

Quote
A couple days ago, someone invited me to zoklet.net - I not going to say who; he knows who he is (and that he should feel very ashamed right now).

Some of the site's members where getting into an in-depth discussion of counterfeitting and they wanted to get my input. Several of the thread's posters had copied and pasted parts of my posts from our counterfeitting thread, and I figured "May as well help them out."

Now mind you, I had never heard of zoklet before two weeks ago, and I had no idea what kind of site it was. If you think bombshock is full of kewlz and wannabe's - you ain't seen nothin' yet!
You would think that a moderator who was specifically over the firearms section would know something about firearms . . . and you would be wrong (as was I).

None the less, the moderators aren't the half of it. People post threads asking for advice and they really don't want any!

Example: A poster asked how he might go about obtaining firearms that would be untracable - later in the thread, he indicates that he's aspiring to become a small time gun runner.
I PM'ed him noting that the posters in the actual thread aren't offerring him any advice worth hearing, and asked if he could provide more specifics on what he needs to know.
He replied that the entire question was hypothetical - so he doesn't need the advice. . . WHAT!? Why the hell did you start a thread, asking for advice, if you don't care about getting it!?

Anytime you start thinking that bombshock is sp full of idiots that you can't take another day - spend a week on zoklet.

There are hundreds of now well-known brands that started out with shitttttttty forums, too. Some of which still have their shiiitttty forums going full steam (double entendre). I dare you to ask me to name one, some, or all of them. In fact, I double dare you--up to, and including, triple-dog-dare you.

True, there are aspects of this forum that suck, just as there are family members that suck. But do you know why we keep coming/going back to visit our families (this forum and the RL ones)? It's because it's the best ones we have.

To be honest, I had/have the same thought as you--Bitcoin is suffering because of this forum. Then realized that I'm an idiot for even thunking it. Before you make decisions on buying products or services from Named entities, do you first go to their forums to feel out the people who post there before you make a decision? Better yet, and you're going to love this, do you first see if those businesses are...wait for it...accredited? I don't, nor haven't.

Granted, I've gone to forums to get a quick overview of a product or service. But I didn't linger around to see what kind of people populate the forum. You know why? Because the type of people I would have encountered would had the same (insert the proper adjective here) capacities as the folks here.

Go to your favorite filling station long enough, and you'll say to yourself, or out loud, "These people are jerks!" No wonder it's not busy when I come in to get a late night snack after posting my ass off on some forum. Let's kill this service station! The people at this restaurant suck. Let's kill it! The people at this Walmart suck. Let's kill it. My girlfriend doesn't... (WHOA! Almost typed suck). Let's kill it!
