I haven't looked yet but... slides should almost never have text. If you want people to actually remember what you have to say then I recommend looking up "Death by powerpoint". There has been some interesting work on the subject and basically, having text up while speaking leads people to try and read and listen at the same time, and has been shown to decrease peoples ability to recall information.

Slides work much better when they present information in a visual (rather than textual) way. Graphs, charts, pictures. Otherwise, I might ditch them all together, since they are probably hindering, rather than helping, the message.

Heh excellent and I liked the slides, when you said wordy slides, I thought you meant it.

It sent a friend of mine on his way out of the house raving about how he wanted to check out these bit coins and what a great idea this was, and how he wants to check into what he needs to do to start accepting coins on his business site, oh and I believe he may have made some disparaging comments about the fed printing money.

I am particularly interested in the graphic of where people are running the client from. Nice to know how many clients are running, though, did you filter our tor nodes?

Interesting, in this talk supposedly on the Feb. 8 2011 there is two references to the total money supply of Bitcoin being ~ 3 million btc, by the moderator and Gavin.

Yet on bitcoin watch the total money supply today is 5.4 million btc. http://www.bitcoinwatch.com/ and this number is what there should be with the 50 per block rate. Also I have in my mind that total supply number on bitcoin watch only a few days ago was 3. xx million not 5 million .... tell me I'm not losing my marbles here.

A short time ago, the total was around 3 million dollars and just over 5 million coins. Now it's around 5.8 million dollars and 5.4 million coins. So the main change in that time is due to the increase in the exchange rate, rather than a large increase in the number of coins.

And ribuck's right-- when I first started putting together the talk there were about 5 million bitcoins worth about 2.5 million dollars.

By the time I gave it, they were worth about 4 million dollars.  And two days after I gave it bitcoins hit $US 1.00 ...

This is definately the best video about bitcoin that has been made so far.
It should be posted on the frontpage as explanation, used as an advertisement and posted to YouTube (of course).
