Hello
I bought 0.2 bitcoin on bitbargain, sent my wallet ddress, got successful trade and transferred the 0.2 bitcoin into my computer wallet qt, from the bb wallet, but it has not yet shown in my wallet yet.
Same with the litecoins I bought the other day.
When I bought bitcoins before in April, they appeared in my computer wallet qt straight away, even without it being synced.
What has gone wrong?
Thanks

It's most likely your bitcoin client. To reassure yourself, check out the listing on blockchain.info for the address that is supposed to receive bitcoins.

Check the transaction at blockchain.info and see if it shows any confirmations. AFAIK it won't show in your wallet until it has at least 1 confirmation on the blockchain.

Hi Thank you. The address on blockchaininfo does have my personal long string of letters and numbers. What do you mean? Hi, sorry, I am a newbie and a bit confused. The address on the blockchaininfo page is the same as the address in my wallet. Please could you tell me when the coins will appear in my computer wallets? Appreciated.

Maybe you can show the transaction ID? Did it get confirmed?

Hi, On the bitcoin blockchain info, theres a blue bar which says 21 confirmations. It doesn't say when it was confirmed. On the litecoin explorer page (the thing you get when you click txid) it doesn't say whether it was confirmed or not. Does this mean its confirmed? and should the coins be in? Should I send a screenshot of these pages, or is that unsafe. Sorry for more questions. Thanks for bearing with me. I hate not knowing what I am doing.

You can post here your address and/or the transaction id so we can check. It's safe noone can have access to your coins with those informations.

21 confirmations are more than enought to be sure the coins are in. If you click on the tx id at the top of the transaction you will see page in what block number this transaction was included + time

Hi Margaret's Dream I know the wallets are not yet synced, but, back in April, when i bought two btc, they appeared in my wallet, as soon as I transferred them from my online wallet at bitbargain. Could the coins have got 'stuck' somehwere? Thanks.

You had the bitcoin-qt synced back in April. Today transaction you made has 21 confirmations at blockchain.info, it means in your bitcoin-qt must be downloaded all blocks (might remain 21 undownloaded blocks) so you can see this transaction + balance update

Hi So, how come the btc I bought in april appeared in my wallet, even though it was not fully synced? Thanks You will see the transaction when your bitcoin-qt download block number where your transaction was included to the blockchain, so no need for full sync if it is not most recent transaction
