muddafudda has threatened to blackmail various individuals, hoping that someone would pressure me into dropping my case against him.

i just read this thread, and i actually agree with muddafudda.  Hippie Tech, you need to make up your mind about your coin before you start.

you gave muddafudda the right to give you 0 coins back.

However, I read the blackmail thread before i read this thread.  For me, the blackmail thread is much worse than any offense that might have been inflicted over the development of vegancoin.

two wrongs don't make a right.  you both suck.

i don't think you should have asked for your money back from what i can tell..
mudda made a very good case i think
BUT if there was a premine then i'm thinking ooooh jeez that is not good lol
then i'm thinking id side with the other guy lol

sorry guys you got yourself a crappy situation here Sad

one thing that stuck out to me is if your NOT a coder and you just go and demand after the fact
that you NOW want your coin to be SHA or scrypt afterwards you don't realize that may mean scraping the code base he was using etc
i have never worked on a coin but i have cruised through the source on some and i can code c++/c just fine so i know what it's like dealing with noobs
asking for stuff afterwards.. oh by the way i want this or that *now

my verdict ? honestly i dunno i'm kinda split between you two guys.. thank god my opinion doesn't mean anything lol
carry on now.. i'm done Wink

if you're honest with yourself though, aren't we all a little bit? i remember when i made coins, i would premine them just because i knew i'd never have enough hash to get any coins myself. it was kind of fun to have a coin too, but cant say i'd ever make another one. It was a fun little expirement but now i'm happily content being a non coin dev. just my thoughts and attempts to keep some objectivity here. muddafudda has faults, but singling him out for loving his premine is kind of focusing on the wrong issue here, which the focus should remain on the fact that he fucked you over and basically told you to kick rocks, but you were probably pulling a noob, all up in his ear with demands. as a developer, we tend to hate that sort of thing, but that doesn't justify him taking your money in lieu of finishing the contract. if anythign else he should have returned you the money and told you to find someone else to boss around. just my .02 BTC

I am honest with myself, thus why I turned down that opportunity.

After the coin was presented, I thought about letting the premine slide (if it was to be fully accountable), then decided against it when I began to realize the constants. eg. the growing pile of broken and abandoned coins. If he was asking that much for ADT, how many others has he set up with his 5 LTC checkpoint updates ?

Oh yeah, I didn't make it or nothing to do with it. Client update 5ltc with windows qt if you need it in the future.

It may be worth considering putting the pos out to 9-12 months but it may not matter.

If you need anymore done i can smash em out for about 12 ltc a pop.

Regards

@ ALL, Anyone here that thinks this is solely about the 5 LTC is fooling themselves. Just ask the miners and bagholders who have lost a fortune thanks to that pile over there.

Its about time we organize ourselves and demand justice.

I don't really know who is right or wrong on the issue of the payment, I'd say if I was Muddafudda I would have just paid you the original amount. $150 Usd is pretty cheap to get a coin made IMO and there wasn't the altcoin generators back in November so it stands to reason that if you have a business creating coins that you would just copy and paste coins and change parameters but if you make a couple mistakes in the code it changes things completely. The coding mistakes have more or less made it much harder for Mudda to continue work with his coin creation business as those who are serious would do their research would think twice.

I would take this as a learning experience if you decide to ever get a coin coded in the future, diplomacy goes a long way. One day you should get your own coin coded and have all the code checked, rechecked and tested before before starting. I think the two most important things in building a foundation are forum management and fee structure. Onlyjackson made a valid point that before Quark really started doing well, they suffered some serious growing pains where someone in a leadership position would constantly fight with people in the foundation.

Here's a pic for reference

Just my 2 cents on the matter.
