Hey guys, I was looking to buy into bitcoin but at $1000 and growing, I'm not looking at buying a full coin. I'd like to buy about .01 just to invest in https://cex.io/r/1/jogoma12/0/ . Where can I buy this, or is it even worth buying such a small sum? Edit: Willing to buy here and pay with amazon gift cards since paypal is not trusted

0.1 isn't "such a small sum" at all - it's 100 mBTC. You definitely shouldn't be put off by the fact you can't get a whole bitcoin; at this point, the vast majority of arrivers to the bitcoin scene have less than 1 BTC.

I personally think Localbitcoins.com is most user-friendly for people who are new to Bitcoin; it's where I bought my first BTC from earlier this year. You'll probably pay slightly over the average USD/BTC rate, but it doesn't require you to verify, which means you can buy BTC immediately rather than wait for a week to have your account verified.

OP said .01 BTCWell spotted, I misread that. The point still applies - there are people here speculating that 0.01 could be worth at least $100 within the next year, so it's certainly not a bad idea to get in while it's $10 I've never used Bitstamp, but a lot of Localbitcoins sellers will have a minimum fiat -> BTC (e.g. you can only buy from them if you spend at least $100). There are some who'll sell any amount from $1, but you may pay a few dollars' premium for that service.

"0.1 small sum". Would'nt say so. Even if 0.1 sounds very small it does'nt mean that it is. In the future people might buy things with 0.001 BTC etc.

kraken.com is good website. Also offers other cryptocurrencies you can buy with fiat money.

Actually did look at that link before. This is so confusing. Do all cryptocoins require first buying bitcoin?

Edit: Willing to buy here and pay with amazon gift cards since paypal is not trusted I would recommend investing, even if it is a seemingly small sum. It could pay out very big in the future. Additionally, using Bitcoin is the best way to learn about Bitcoin, and that requires getting a little bit in your wallet. Send me a PM if you get a chance.
