Theymos Doesn't love the Forum Anymore ?? !!!!!

I guess now Theymos is not aware of what going on the local Forums ??

There are No Mods in the Following Section Hrvatski (Croatian) , India ,    한국어 (Korean) , Skandinavisk

Is he aware what wrong is going on the local sections ? I guess No. If he do knows then he would have chosen the Mods right now.

If you Guys think that the Local Forums are not so active and for that reason May Theymos is not choosing the Mods, then you are wrong.

עברית (Hebrew)  and    日本語 (Japanese)  These are the two Local Forums which have many less topics created but they have the Mods.

So @Theymos have you been recently to any of the Local Forums , if you have been then you could have understand the problem. Many of the topics are not in right section. Some are spamming the sections with their referral links. Some too using automatic translations in the forum.

So Kindly @Theymos look about this issue.

And Rest of the user, what do you think ? Why Theymos is doing so ?

He does, that's why a merit system has been made to lessen those greed who just love to rank up and never pay attention to love (contribute) on the forum too.

The reason is more likely that there is nobody suitable on those boards to appoint as a moderator. If you think there is then nominate them.

Better send an application to become a local board moderator or nominate someone deserving for the position that you can contact.

As far as I know, Mods aren't randomly selected or picked based on the user's activities.

 Make a topic in the local section and discuss this demonstrating that there is a need for a new moderator. Try to find a list of names that is a consensus. Then send this list to Theymos.. It is not an election, but a list would help him to decide which one to nominate.

I have no doubt that theymos does not love the forum, he himself is human. Put yourself in his shoes. How would YOU manage a BIG community like BitcoinTalk if you were him? IMO it's not easy task.

Wtf are you talking about? Your name does suit you, bobo. DT members aren't "in charge", it's just that these DT members (DT1) are picked by Theymos to help. And these DT1 members has their own trust list, DT2. Theymos even made the merit system just recently what do you mean by abandoned this forum a long time ago? And DT was made long before Merit system was introduced, how can you say he abandoned it when he clearly made another change recently? Bobo.

Can any OG member or staff or moderator answer the following question? If posts are reported in sections that don't have mods, how are those posts handled? Do they go to a global queue of some sort for other mods to handle these submissions? If so, then would it be beneficial for users to report posts in these mod-less boards, or would their reports be pointless?

This forum is totally unfriendly for local users. Beside the issue with moderation you can check the merit circulation in local sections. Theymos either don't care about those local plebs or the merit system was designed to prevent them from ranking up.
Anyway meybe those boards are not getting spammed and they don't really need to be moderated.

On that point, you do sort of have to be able to understand English and write it to become a merit source (to write your application post for example).

There were special requests to make some people that post in local boards merit sources, however, if people just stick to local boards -they're not going to become a merit source and they're not going to allow other users to advance further. Local boards should be a place to start here (in my opinion) as we are an English forum primarily and you can't expect an admin to know every language and post in it.

Potentially to solve that issue, you could have mods that make threads for merit applications in local boards and have local members of that community to post on it for the mod and then theymos' scrutiny.

I might be wrong, but if my memory serves me right; during one of the discussions (possibly the one where a mod for Politics and society section was to be appointed) it was told that such reports go to Global Mods; also I think there was a concept of troopers on BitcoinTalk.  Guess the answer is too hazy...

I used to think that global moderators were mods who were posting off their moderated board, I assume that's now staff instead - has that changed at some point?

These are either handled by Global Mods(Grue,Hilariousandco,Salty ,rickbig41,mrprep) or by admins(theymos,cyrus). Though these reports may not be handled immediately but they get handled soon enough(I am totally assuming the end part based on what I have read  ).

Is it really that Theymos might read this thread? Hmm, that's just possibility, I am hard to believe if a forum member can read all of the postings through threads. I think a member will come around for their favorite board and see the threads there to be explored, so perhaps that is also Theymos what doing. Even also to appoint a moderator, perhaps Theymos do not see the urgency to do that at current time no meaning that Theymos doesn't love this forum anymore.
