My partner had 10k confiscated by them.

Nitrogen Sports has an ambiguous rule: you warranty that it's legal for you to bet online where you are. It's not legal to bet online at Nitrogen in the US or in Costa Rica. They used this rule to take 10k out of an account after the player was active for 4 months. So they know where a player is playing, and selectively enforce it if they are sure you are a long-term winner.

This same rule lets them confiscate any balance from a US player. When a book starts confiscating balances on ambiguous rules, there are much worse problems going on. If you play and win here consistently, I wouldn't expect to be paid my winnings.

They are not licensed in a single State in the US. I challenge them to identify a single state where someone can play with Nitro, and not violate their rules. If they can't, they can choose to use this rule against every player when they choose.

This doesn't mean they will steal from you. They reserve that for people that are up a lot. But any book that relies on a "gotcha" rule to selectively steal has much bigger problems going on.

Wasn't nitrogen one of the top crypto books for us players years ago?  When did they suddenly not accept us players?  Did this rule apply to us citizens who were abroad outside the US though and never once logged into their nitrogen account while in the us?



So what countries are you allowed to use and bet on nitrogen if you are from the us?  Could you be taking a vacation in say thailand or brazil for a month and create account and bet there?  Or do you need proof like a utility bill while in say thailand or south america in order to play there?  Or if you are us citizen, you can't play there regardless.  Or they don't care and let you play until you ask for a withdraw?  But what if you always logged into nitrogen while in thailand or somewhere in south america isp and never used a vpn.  What happens there?

i've asked you for months/years now and always gotten a positive response but nothing has happened.
We are still left with a lobby and subsequently rake from the days off $1000=1btc, when playing 10/20 on your site was actually 10/20$ and a $2000 buyin.

That same table is now $400/$800 and $80000 buyin, but you have lower stakes you might think, yes you do but with rake meant for what was once micro stakes games except they are now high stakes tables. to play a 1000$ cash game which is pretty high, i would have to sit 0.1/0.2.
this also led to no micro stakes, theres 0.01/0.02 and then 0.001/0.002 which equates to nl$100 and nl$10, no stakes in between like nl$25 nl$50 or lower like nl$2 nl$4.

there's now a lot of competition from blockchain poker, swcpoker, and all the other apps that let us deposit BTC these days. so even though i like the site its very hard to play any meaningfull stakes lately, its very dead from lack of micro/low stakes. and no one dares play each other at higher stakes because of high rake.
My suggestion would be a chip split of x40-100(which would 1. move games up the lobby, 2. add a lot of lower stakes like you used to have and 3. make the rake more competitive) which is about the btc valuation gain since that time

Dont forget all the obvious house players/bots. Everybody who plays poker at nitro must be crazy. First you pay the HIGHEST rake in online poker, by far, and then in the end you are getting cheated as well.

Why would you want to join Nitrogen sports in the first place, like there are other better gambling site with a clean reputation out there?
Just read through a few posts up this thread, and you will notice that it's a fucked up casino that nobody should dream of joining.

Even after closing an account nothing would have stopped you from opening a new one or just play at a new site, so don't blame them for your gambling problems and get some help, you won't see any from this site.

All depends on whether they want to do the right thing, morally speaking. If you say you honor self exclusion requests, then you shouldn't allow anyone to lose money on that specific account after the request was made. It's quite simple.

Its YOUR OWN FAULT, do not blame other for that and just get the help you obviously need. Even if they would give you something back you would play with it and lose anyway.

How can you claim that so definitively? How do you know that I haven't already turned my life around? In fact, I have not placed a bet since I left them in March. It feels great. But, I want them to own up to their side of this as well. Had they granted any of my initial requests, I would have been in a much better spot, much sooner.

This is a lose-lose situation for them. If they say US players are not allowed, 90% of their players realize their money is at risk. If they say US players are allowed, they have to explain how a rule that should be similar to US and Costa Rica allows them to confiscate CR balances, but not US.

One way to know if your country is allowed or not is to open https://nitrogensports.eu/ on your browser and if the country is restricted it will give you an "Error 1009 Access denied" message. So if you are living in USA, just open the site and see if its lets you in or not.
Secondly, i have searched the terms and condition page (https://nitrogensports.eu/n/terms) but i did not find any such information regarding banned countries by nitrogen sports.

My partner placed many bets from Costa Rica, with a CR IP. So I don't think this works. CR isn't mentioned in their TC. Have you ever seen a country blocked by this?

Because they know it's illegal for US players to place bets, but it represents most of their consumer base (just look at their marketing/promos - you can tell it's tailored towards the US market). So, they say "play here at your own risk, up to you to decide whether it's legal in your jurisdiction" because they know that many players can't resist.

I rarely jump in a thread from a book and keep to my own thread but since this topic keeps coming up, as far as I know, Nitrogen allows you to play from the US. If you are using an IP from the US and are having problems, please pm me or post in the ratings guide so that I can look in to it and adjust ratings accordingly.


edit- after more research it seems that all sportsbooks located in Costa Rica take players from the US. There are sportsbooks from CR that advertise in the US. Others take bets from the US, but can't market in the US. It depends upon where their servers are located.  On the other hand, not all books located in CR take players from CR.
