My story

Wire transfer amount: $21,841.33
Request date: Nov. 12, 2013, 2:16 p.m. (!!!)
To: Citadele Bank, Latvia
Wire type: International transfer, USD
Support ticket IDs: 21325, 23339, 24517, 31414

It's already 3 Dec 2013, and guess what... STILL NO CASH ON MY BANK ACCOUNT !!

I have asked them for an investigation (and even paid for it!) about a week ago and they keep telling me "there is no answer from our bank yet". I'm not f%%% buying it!! This is totally ridiculous!

I have also requested for a SWIFT copy of this transfer (and I even agree to pay for that also) but still no answer, no comments, no wire, no money.

WTF BITSTAMP?! These dollars ain't yours!

It looks like many exchanges are having problems with orders right now. You should contact them to find out what's really going on.

On the withdrawals page does it say 'In process' or does it say 'Finished'?

Ask them to cancel it if it hasn't been finished yet.

Yes, it is "Finished" as of Nov 12th, 2013 (!!!)

This is absolutely CRAZY. They don't seem to care much. I've asked them to order an investigation and/or swift confirmation and they have even deducted 21 EUR from my account about a week ago and still **NOTHING**   Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed

Update: still NO wire. They seem to ignore all of my questions. Beware!! I don't want to say it but it looks like Bitstamp is a scam!!

Guys, what can I do with Bitstamp in order to get my money back? I am thinking of sending abuses to their uplink provider, to their domain name registrar etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

UPDATE FOR 4.12.2013: Response from BITSTAMP:
"I'm still waiting for a response from our bank. We are terribly sorry for this delay however we contacted our bank several times and we were unable to receive any new information. We were promised that we will be contacted as soon as they learn more."
^^^ almost 2 weeks passed and they still wait for their bank to respond. Looks like they lie to me.

Well, you can try talking to your bank or their bank (unicredit slovenia).

Gox user not affected... because there it takes 2 months at least! Wink

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.

My bank told me I should communicate with the sender because they just don't know which correspondent bank was used (for USD transfer).

Not sure if unicredit slovenia will even listen to my problem.

Passing the buck eh. It's outrageous that they'd imagine this constitutes an update nearly a month after the fact.

i am planning to withdraw small amount for a test, to avoid the same problem.
Withdraws over 10k seem always to be a Problem. There are now nearly 4 guys with this Problem at Bitstamp.

Just curious, why did you go for the international and not a sepa transfer (cheaper and much quicker as well)?

Honestly I'm certain it's not a scam, there's no rational reason they would scam for such meager amounts when they make about this much profit every hour. International wires are a pain in the ass, I think you should talk to your bank about this, since if it says the transaction is finished it's probably out of their hands.

Most likely your transfer has been halted for review / investigation by either the bank risk department or a thirdparty with an interest. This can happen randomly with transfers over 10k in general. They can't say anything yet about it until they are allowed. Bitstamp has most likely nothing to do with it.
