Yeah, I'm a newbie to this board but I've been buying and using bitcoins for a few months now. Bitcoin is an idea that I really like, but for it to take off people need to start actually using them. Nothing new here, everybody knows this.

Part of what I do IRL is design shopping carts. I have good, stable, free hosting and a stock of good domain names to use. So, I'm designing a new site that will only accept BTC for payment.

What would you want to see in the store?

Would it help the bitcoin economy more to be offering less expensive or higher cost items? I'm thinking that cheaper items would generate more 'flow' in the currency, but maybe I'm wrong?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I want the bitcoin to be a currency that is more widely accepted as a way to exchange money for goods/services, rather than a vehicle for speculation, which it has become somewhat.

I sell on ebay and I personally loathe Paypal's monopoly, since I've been on the losing end of a few scams. While BTC has some problems to overcome as a way to be a way to purchase goods, I think that this might be a new standard - all the extra parties involved in internet transactions (credit card companies, 3rd party payment processors) allow for many vectors for fraud. BTC spends aren't "chargeback-able" which has positives and negatives, but I think once someone perfects a way to exchange BTC rapidly for fiat and for goods/services then we'll have a pretty good system.

Play time on games at the local arcade!

Or maybe just arcade parts would do. I wonder if Lizardlick would consider accepting bitcoin in the future.

I'd like to buy creative design services -- T-shirt design.  It's impractical to buy something like music until the artist themselves wants to be compensated in BTC.
