Well hello to all of you, I am not sure of the appropriate place to make this post after an hour of searching, so Mod's if you have a better home for it please feel free to move it.
This post is more so just about gauging interest in a product before i commit $5,000 into it.
Many of you have seen the 3d render of the 2009 bitcoin (
http://thestatelessman.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/bitcoin-logo-3d.jpg ) if you havent. It is a graphic that has circulated for quite some time, and to be honest i myself have fallen in love with it. I have a family member (brother) who mints custom coins for businesses and the military and over the thanksgiving holiday i mentioned having him make a physical coin like this for the 2014 year not to different from the original image with a few minor changes mainly the year being switched to 2014 and i was thinking something two tone like silver and bronze instead of all bronze. concept can be seen here (
https://i.imgur.com/At1oJq3.jpg ) He said it could be easily done in less than 15 days if i wanted to give him the money. But before i let lose of the cash i want to gauge if people would be interested in buying them. I am not looking to make any money off of them, he said they would be about $10 per coin and thats exactly what i would sell them for (plus shipping of course). He said i would have to order a Min of 500 of them to make it worth it because he would have to make the dies to press the coins and that costs a ton. The coin specifics are listed below, and i guess i just really want to know. If i spent the money to have them made how many of you would SERIOUSLY want to buy one for your own collection as a keepsake. Please just reply with a yes or no. and please be honest. i dont want to waste a ton of money i could be spending on more mining hardware. If you say yes, i would expect that if i had them made and posted pictures offering them for sale to forum members that you would buy one.
Coin Specs.
Diameter: 1.5 inches ( about .25 inches bigger than a US half dollar )
Thickness 3mm ( about 1mm bigger than a US half dollar coin )
Colors: antique gold and pewter
Type: die pressed and hardened ( more durable than any coin in circulation currently )
If i think there is a real chance of selling them all i will place the order and offer them to the community at cost of $10 per coin, i would only order the minimum requirement of 500 coins as i dont want to be stuck with a bunch of them myself. if they all sold quick i would have him make a second run of them .
Thank you for your time, and please honest seriously.
