Bitcoin - love & hate

I would guess it could briefly get down to $500. I doubt it's going much lower than that. It'll probably trade in a range of $500-$1,000 for the next few months, then start a new rally sometime later in 2014 and make a new ATH.

We go down much further.
I told in another thread, nice double top. Bottom will be around 100-150$ -> start of the china/speculator bubble

< 100 BTC is not worth mentioning. Poor souls will always remain poor. Don't miss the failtrain.

I disagree.

Just because people hear of it, doesn't mean they'll jump right in and buy into it.

I've been telling people about bit coin for the last 9 months - dozens and dozens of people - not a single person bought into it.

I think the majority if people are like this. And will be so for a long time yet.

About half of the people I've had repeated conversations with, and have done some research of their own, have gotten involved. And this is only in the last 3 months.  I'm not suggesting it's mainstream, far from it, but reasonable people will give it a look.

I guess you know more nerds and geeks then him? Wink

"Normal" investor, like stock market player are still afraid of BTC. I talk with a couple friends and buddys, right now with the trend down. Almost all say get out, it is dangerous. So not many ppl will become much interesting in BTC right now.

Yeah that was my expectation also. Amongst others, the people I spoke to were lawyers, accountants and business owners. But most people are risk averse, they look at the possible downside before considering the upside. And when they hear it was 1c or $1 or $10 and so on, they immediately fear it will go back to those levels and see it as just a speculative instrument. So trying to get them to understand bitcoins huge potential to change how the world operates....well no luck for me in that regard..yet.

I believe in btc and hope btc succeeds. I just wish the speculators didn't get onboard so quick.

This and most sites will auto update their BTC prices (their prices come from an exchange feed)

End of 2013, probably back to around $1100. But well played by spreading the FUD, I have to agree

You think that bitcoin needs anyone in this forum to spread fud for bitcoin to crash? Like the bank of china declaring that bitcoin is not a currency and baidu removing it from their site is not enough...

Go to the charts and check again how that 1.5 btc actually made the price to explode. Then turn the chart upside down to estimate the bottom of this crash. Also check the difference between rumors and facts.

Right now bitcoin is at $770 at mtgox

How low do you think bitcoin will be before this year ends

Could it be lower than $100?

After the first bubble it came down to 15% of the peak. After the 2nd it came down to 23% of the peak. In both cases, the press announced the death of Bitcoin. I expect that people have learned by now that Bitcoin is a honey badger and nobody will seriously suggest that this is the end. Why then would ppl sell for a low price if everyone assumes that within a year or 2, there will be a new ATH?

You can assume that a lot of ppl who sell on the way down do so only to buy back cheaper. So resistance will get stronger the lower the price is.

It is reasonable to assume that the bottom will be less deep than before - I guess 35% at most.

I think this bull run is clearly over, no more media as holiday time no one cares about investments. I see us in the $400-$600 range.

Bitcoin @ $100-$200 would be a dream come true for me i'm going to buy shit loads at that price but i know it's impossible.
