He failed to mention which developers he is working with because there is no official Dogecoin team of developers. Maybe he brought in his own team and will fork it.

The idea of fork is nice one. If somehow this fork is real, it would mean all the dogecoin holders will get free fork coin and even if this fork does not happen and Elon continue to promote the original doge, the price will increase in both cases. The only fear is if he stepped out of doge, and then it will collapse badly.

I guess it is better to fork a popular coin than to create a new one. Could SpaceX use a satellite network to validate transactions? Has anyone thought that decentralization could be in space, safe from hackers?

Think about this, what currency will the colonists of the future use on the moon and Mars? What currency will be used for the exploitation and exchange of resources and supplies?

It makes sense that it is a cryptocurrency outside of governments and banks. The currency's growth in value could itself finance the space race.

Do not underestimate what is going through Elon's head, he is a visionary. He is also ironic, daring, goes against the current and likes to show it, show that everything is possible. Why can't the future currency be a meme symbol? What's the problem?

Dethroning bitcoin is far from happening as of this moment. Doge needs to prove first about its usefulness in the market. And right now, they are just starting to develop its efficiency in the payment sector. Though it can be found in many exchanges, still it is not the reason that it can dethrone bitcoin easily. We need more valid reasons why doge can compete with btc, eve in terms of popularity of usage.

Maybe Elon pay the listing fee for Dogecoin to get approval from Coinbase. I can understand if Coinbase list Dogecoin. It is not because it is a good altcoin but because its popularity on exchanges and the trading volume it can bring to Coinbase.

Exchange need to have trading volume and earn trading fees. Dogecoin is absolutely good with such criteria.

But Coinbase listing won't help price to stay high after pumps. Every coin will have pump with Coinbase listing, after which can be gradual falls. Dogecoin will need other news to soar again.

This has nothing to do with technology nor with common sense. It is a gray day for crypto. Very disappointing. And it makes me sad that one single cranky bastard can potentially bury or turn around the multi billion industry which he is not part of nor has a sufficient understanding on how it all works.
