Dogecoin consistantly has about 150% the amount of active addresses that Litecoin has, and between 10 and 15% those of Bitcoin; which is good considering it has only 0.3% of its market cap.
1. Tipping 2. Faucets Tipping is mostly done off-blockchain, and faucets are just as common for the two other coins.

Never give up mascot ^_^ Also hmm merge mining http://www.coindesk.com/dogecoin-allow-litecoin-merge-mining/Dogecoin to Allow Litecoin Merge Mining in Network Security Bid The dogecoin development team has announced that it will soon enable auxiliary proof-of-work (AuxPoW), allowing merge-mining with litecoin that will address concerns over the altcoin’s future. AuxPoW enables the dogecoin block chain to receive work from other scrypt-based networks. Dogecoin miners will still be able to generate blocks and receive DOGE, but now, litecoin miners will contribute hashing power to the dogecoin network.

Will the proposed merged-mining with LTC work backwards as well?? (Dogecoin mining pools merge mine LTC---so Dogecoin miners can pull in LTC as well??) Seems like a great idea right now! Let's hope it pans out in our favor...

So long as your Dogecoin pool is setup for merged mining (if/when AuxPoW goes into effect-hardfork)...it will be automatic type thing. Time to contact my Dogecoin pool operator and see what his plans are. Thanks lynn_402

I've seen a lot of discussion about doge lately and recently with merge mining. I do miss the doge, I may have to merge mine a few of them to see what that's like.

I get the same thing. If it hasn't connected after a minute or 2, it's probably not going to so you need to close and restart it. Thought I had found a workaround but it didn't work out. Ddon't really want to download the full blockchain either but think I'm going to just have to suck it up and do it.
