Hey. I noticed this thread have been fairly quiet for the past few weeks. Is there a more popular forum for following DOGE (other than Reddit)?

Does anybody know if doge is planning to stop or reduce PoW? Cause the inflation now is massive. If so then how much will the reduction in subsidy be?
Also, anybody know how many doge coins will be burned and will that be permanent?
All this info should be in the OP but it's not. Not sure why not.
Thanks!

It's mostly all on reddit. If you wanted to try helping bootstrap http://discuss.dogecoin.com/ that would be brilliant, but I'm guessing you're wondering where the discussion is, not where it theoretically could be.

Any attempt to change the mining schedule has been greeted with fire and pitch forks. AuxPoW lets us ride it out, and inflation is a constant quantity so will drop consistently over time. You can follow the Dogeparty burn at https://chain.so/address/dogeparty and yes they're permanently stuck there, the address is designed to unrecoverable.

It's good ideea for now investing in dogecoin? or this coin is almost dead? If you like investing in things where your shares will be diluted forever then sure! I'm still very bearish on this until a strong cap of 100 billion is put in place. Now is the perfect timing with the merge mining of LTC.... people bought into DOGE because the OP said there was a cap.

Fixed that for you Ah thanks but people did... just most those people have since sold and now DOGE will catch the bumps of the manipulators who are trying to push volume into the books in order to have a bit more liquidity. I'm not butthurt or anything... it would just be best for DOGE to have a cap since they are going to get free power anyways.

I won't be annoyed at all. I'll just say 5.25 billion DOGE forever diluting your stash. I still don't get why any holders/anyone would want this. beyond me

Doge has still a high daily market volume, more than 300BTC today. But that's sad what happened in 2014. the trust with investors was harmed with all the scam operations we have seen.
But the trust can be here again in the future. And doge is a very good Alternate, like Extremecoin, and other ones. Anyway, most x11 coins we have, contain scam features, this is not something that will help with the trust issue.

My informal, sleep-deprived opinion is "Please no, not another hard fork" Seriously though, with AuxPoW we should have a lot more pools simply always mining Doge (via Lite or direct), and therefore difficulty calculations become a non-problem.

Well, it provides motivation for people to use their coins rather than hoard, and primarily invest in related businesses in the very long term. Short term adoption drives value, and given we have 100-200k users now, and there's a billion+ potential users, hopefully the scope for growth that way is clear. Further, any lost coins and burnt coins also cut down that 5 billion figure.
