First power bill inclusive of 24/7 mining rigs...

If I go over 1k kWh my rate is .079 per kWh.  (big difference from Edison in California, here the more you use, the more you save)

If I go under 1k kWh my rate is .098 per kWh.

So yea, if I was at 950 kWh for the month or so and billing was about to cycle it would actually pay me to find some hair dryers and get them running.

I can shave off about an extra cent if I wired up my garage.

I live in Appalachia / South Atlantic.

I'm in TX, USA and I'm at $0.091/khw flat rate. I only have two mining rigs running (2x 6870, 2x5830) and my electric bill has only been about $50 higher the last couple months.

I'm guessing it's a marginal rate: The lower rate is only for kWhr over the first 1k.
The first 1k are always at the higher rate. Unless the power company is stupid
and wants to encourage waste...

For me is weird to read the big differences in electricity prices, today i heard that usa and chile seems to have different prices when temps go down or up.
In the netherlands its all year round the same price.
We pay a monthly fee in my case 244,83 euro
In october the fun BIG total comes in where you finally can see what you actually used.
Which in most cases mean pay alot more.
I guess ill beat the 8200 kwh from last year again, if it goes above 10k we get a nice bonus penalty on the bill.

Hehe. Makes me glad I pay a monthly average, with yearly counting for the balance difference. I'm kinda afraid of the bill I'm getting in next february. But, it shouldn't be too different from what I got last year, when I run md5 cracking and used a 500w plasma tv as my main monitor for months.

Actually, it's similar for me.

The first 500 kWh, they charge a slightly higher price, but all the electricity after that is discounted.

No matter how much electricity I use in a month (over 500 kWh), I still pay the same amount for the electricity.

Well, here's this month's bill: (First 500 times rate + the extra fees + the usage after 500 (3730 was total usage) + rate + fees) + the tax and service fee.

(500 * (0.085 + 0.0098)) + (((3730 - 500) * (0.072 + 0.0098)) + 16.52 + 6.25)

My cost is about $0.0909/kWh. I'm running a GTX 550 Ti (60-80M) with a 500W power supply. How much would my bill be for the computer itself. Even if it's a crazy price I'm going to keep mining since my landlord pays my power bill.

  Mine actually went down $50 from same month last year. Running 4x5830 extremely OC'd all month. My power definetly does not get cheaper at my house if I use more. Here in FL its pretty consistent throughout the state for residential at .09 -.13 per KWh. Mine is at the lower end of that. Which reminds me, the nuclear plant I was getting supplied by in Windermere was still over .10 KWh.

  I keep anything substantialy power consuming at a business location that is on a tiered plan that I am usually in the .08713 bracket for. Not really sure what the other brackets are under 10k KWh and over 20k KWh since I have been in the same pricing for several years now.

  I still think no matter what aynones costs are we're all a bunch of anti-hippies with all this juice consumption....
