Instead of running an ico and giving out worthless tokens, what if an open sourced project ran completely on donations from the community. Would you donate if you believed in it and felt it was needed in the crypto space?

Even small donations like .00001 BTC or .01 ETH

You see, there's a big difference between donation and investment. The whole point in participating in an ICO is the possible return on the funds you're putting in the project which makes it very appealing. When you buy in an idea because you truly believe in its usefulness, then it's a win-win situation. So what good is donating, if you can't make money off of it?
