No, do not use Mt Gox whatsoever.
There are just too many instances of them not paying out.
Just use coinbase.

I suggest you turn away from GOX, get your coins out while you can. They've been having numerous problems for the past few months, and I suggest withdrawing immediately. Perhaps use localbitcoins or bitstamp when you are buying/selling.

Is it possible to buy bitcoin from someone local and send them to be stored on coinbase.
It seems easily hackable. If someone can get a hold of your password they can easily change the phone numbers on that account.

If its a lot of coins..i'd say no. Nothin out there is safe, and the only method would be to store it offline in wallet form.

Why you have the need storing Bitcoins on Exchanges or online wallets?

Paper wallet is really simple. There are youtube videos to help you as well. Stay away from GOX.

You can move bitcoins very easily. Keep the absolute minimum on exchanges, gambling sites, etc.
Has little to do with security and more to do with none of these sites being all that trustworthy.

This. You can make a paper wallet relatively easily. Take the time to do so because if properly secured they are safe. Mother big exchanges etc are prime targets for thieves and it only takes one mistake to have many stolen.

At the moment I am only buying one or two bitcoins so, only 2K. I don't think people will bother to hack for that?
I want to get this done by today and then look into the best way to keep paper wallet. Before the price goes up.
Is anyone anticipating a price drop?

Yeah, stay away from Gox. I lost my entire account when it got hacked. They just shrugged and told me to take it up with the local police. Granted I didn't follow up, it was back when BTC was only worth $5 and I only lost around 10 BTC. I'm kicking myself over that these days.
