There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

That is correct. Shitcoin is also real, as is PoopCoin, CrapCoin and Wankcoin ...

Here's a page showing them all, with logos, protection scheme and pow algo:

http://minkiz.co/coin/

(144 recent ones to add later today)

and a more navigable list of just the names:

http://minkiz.co/coin/names/

Have fun.

Cheers

Ferraricoin
Maxicoin
Megacoin
Thecoin
Lolcoin

you might have noticed a pattern here, they all end with "coin" xD and something fancy in front of them.

One way or another, the name of the coin doesn't define the success of the coin, a bad named coin can have much higher value that a good named one
