it is a simple and very effective example of why we need btc and digital currencies. You don`t have to deal with such issues, whenever you see the transaction in blockchain you don`t have to worry than for anything.

Exactly, as it stands I see nothing except that the money has been deducted from my account.
What they have done with the money is anyones guess, maybe i am financing someone a short term loan and then at some stage im told it was credited by accident to unknown account and will be returned.

The teller definitely would have access to the details,
Yes, access for sure, but she sure did not want to help. In her view i did not come to her and asking for her service to do the payment instead done it myself so i should deal with it now by myself.

Also it cost me a whopping £25 to fill in the data on the website.

well what you explained here can be one of the many reasons we need bitcoin but to be honest i don't see why you think we also need litecoin!
i am a fan of litecoin but also i know that it is not really a unique project! it is the copy of bitcoin with no significant change that matters. having faster block generation and a tiny bit different algorithm doesn't make it good for payments really.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Yes it is just one reason of many and a valid one. It is easier to write a 4 than 4 zeros and 4 numbers, put anyway its not the issue at hand here.

I had something similar happening to me with a simple Bank transfer between two Banking groups. I bought a car and I transferred the money from my Bank to a Bank within another group of Banks. The Bank said the transfer will take between 24hours to 48hours to be completed. <And here, we get people complaining about confirmations that takes 1 to 4 hours>

In the end, the Bank transfer took 52 hours and the Seller nearly cancelled the verbal agreement that we had between us. He thought I was trying to get out of the deal. After a lot of negotiations and begging, I managed to buy the car.  Angry

Just of the phone to the bank with a 36min long call. Bank has confirmed to me again and again that money is at receiving bank and the receiving bank has got "difficulty" crediting the beneficiary account. Three messages have been forwarded from my bank to Agricultural Bank of China the last on May 9 none have been applied to.
Meantime demur-age penalties mounting plus what not.

10 min confirmation time, lol

Honestly, if I were you I would have just cut my losses, depending on how much money I'd already invested up to that point.
How much was the total price you had to pay for those 5 units? How much time have you spent in total? (rough estimate)

Looking at your timeline, it surely has to be a couple of days, so your earlier comparison to this being the equivalent to a full time job isn't too off.

So just received new email

Quote
Dear sir,
we have just received message from our accounting department that today they where at the bank to check what exactly is the problem since information keep coming from your bank that the transfer is with the receiving bank.
our bank said it is possible for payment to have arrived at the head office and since there are many transfer every day from all over the world probably their is a lot of ques on transfers and all international transfer will first arrived to the main head office before the head office will then sending to various branch for account to be credited.

.......
.......
.......

so once the swift message is sent please remember to inform your bank that copy of the swift message is also given to you so that you can send to us immediately and we also provide to our bank to fasting transfer issue.

once this is done our bank branch assured us that the transfer will be urgently look into and credited into our account.

please we wait the copy of the swift message as advice by our bank branch.

also our bank branch also advice that the swift message can be sent also by fax.

Yes amazingly this is still ongoing and not any closer to be solved.
Did not have the energy in the last days to update.

I am literately held ransom by the Chinese mafia.
The ABC (Agricultural Bank of China) is not processing the payment, the Chinese company is making errors and errors and the Chinese Logistics firm is adding demurrage penalties daily.
Thats the very definition of organized scam.

In this day and age two banks fail to get communication channel established  in a month and a half is nothing short of scandalous.
How can there be any correct book-keeping if the whereabouts of something i unknown for such a long period. My money literally vanished mid air and no way of checking.

Sorry to say you went about this the wrong way. Emails and phone calls just don't help.

Write physical letters registered delivery to their legal departments,
threaten unfavourable press coverage if you have to sue,
threaten to talk to the Chinese Embassy, Trade Mission. Talk big.

There is i dont know maybe 50 emails exchanged so far. Imagine the cost and how slow it would be to sent and await response.

But if a bank as big as Agricultural bank of china can not or will not process a payment in nearly 2 months and refuses to get in contact with my bank who is willing to sent money to china? I'm not anymore.

Edit:
phone calls only been made to the bank and thats recorded to the company its all written communication.

Apart from the fees the banks charge is the confirmation time takes too long. You will be charged the wire transfer fee plus the 1% international charge.

Instead of the bank I am using my bitcoin wallet as my own bank and the bank is only secondary to me. It means that the more money you send, the more charges will be charged to you.
