it's a good idea we do not have to use the whole ethereum to buy ico, but just use some or some ico that should be needed to get a potentially good coin. so if using the total amount of ethereum will pose a big risk.

Well after the huge pumps occured to ETH, it's really a valuable cryptocurrency I must said, really different with back then when each ETH values only $20, even I don't consider 5 ETH as that much but guess it turns out to be differnet.
However, my advice is that never put your money in the same basket, if a project turns out to be problematic or even worse, scam, it'll be a disaster, watch the guide to determine whether an ICO is good or not aswell.

Searching a good ICO should came from your own research and not from others. One of the reason why there are many investors that get scam or lose their investment is because they are too lazy to do their own homework. You should take charge of your own investment and must not rely on others opinion.
