5 years in crypto is like 500 years in normal history (for example, in the history of gold). There is no way to tell with certainty if Bitcoin will still be there then. With that said, though, I'm dead certain that crypto will still be around and likely expanding slowly into different fields of real use. What I want to say is that Bitcoin is definitely not the only pebble on the beach. So far all crypto at large has been a massive vehicle for speculation, while technical and technological advances and advantages are mostly irrelevant, at least as long as you could safely move your coins to and fro. But all cryptocurrencies are virtually the same in this regard. Right now, it is entirely a matter of personal preferences and choice among traders.

However, if they choose some other coin as their favorite speculative tool instead of Bitcoin, the latter is doomed. Then it can be assumed hypothetically that it will turn into silver. I for one don't believe in the "silver" scenario myself, though, because real silver has intrinsic value and industrial application as well as in jewelry so its price can't be 0, no matter what. I think it's best to buy bitcoin now and then rediscover it after 5 years, because otherwise you might be really losing the opportunity. It is obvious from the history of bitcoin that the tendency is strongly upward even if we consider the current huge dip after ath we're still in. And I bet there's no chance bitcoin goes back to 400 dollars. During the time of rapid price falling, people were indeed hoping for it but the barrier of $6k was the limit of falling. People believe in blockchain and free market. As long as it's true, there won't be no really crazy price drops.

of course it isnt. 8kusd is not cheap when we are basing on the current price to the first price of bitcoin ever since it came out to the market but if we are comparing the current price to the last year price, then i could say that 8kusd is freakin cheap at all. However i do believe that bitcoin can still recover and will still reach a new ath if only given an adequate time, maybe Five years or more is enough in order to see huge gains .

There is no point to explain to him anything, bitcoin price will not go back to 400 dollars, but even if it does it will bounce back and if he leave now he will miss all that for sure. That can't happen, but this guy made us think what if something like that happen and to create some theories.
Price fluctuate all the time, last drop is caused by the sell of in Asia, market lost almost 100 billion dollars in seven days, some alts dropped even more then bitcoin.
Price will go back to 10k dollars in next couple weeks, situation in Asia will be calmed like always, there are some good news and the upcoming events including the Blockchain Week in New York will push price up again in no time. Panic sellers and other week minds will regret for their decisions made in fear like always, some people will never learn.
