My first thought was: Bitcoin is not ready for JB fans.

Your idea isn't completely ridiculous; there might be another celebrity that would do this, but probably not quite yet. I reckon it should be someone that has a relatively intelligent following; not a bunch of teen girls who will just go "WTF" and forget about it. Maybe someone like Jon Stewart or Colbert.

Charlie Sheen?

I realize there's a shortage of girls on this forum, but this is just a terrible idea.

Bitcoin is here to revolutionize the world so it would be best if we kept the likes of Justin Bieber and anything/anyone to do with him out. Besides, it's easier using daddy's cash and credit cards.

This has nothing to do with getting more women on the site. JB was just an example. The idea is to get more people involve, thus creating more commerce to fee the demand.

The fact that you chose justin bieber as your prime example has made me lose respect for you.

I saved replying to this post for last.

Have you truly lost respect for me or are you kidding? The last thing I want is for anybody to lose respect for me. I try hard to do my part to help the Bitcoin community, and the last thing I want is for someone to lose respect for me. I worked hard to gained respect on this board, and I don't want you to lose respect for me. What can I do so that you won't lose respect for me? Please give me another example, and I will change all my post to grain your respect.

Thank you kindly for your input. I respect you for that. Any other poster would go on a diatribe, outlining how hard they worked to earn, have, and maintain respect. But not me! I'm different. As different as Bitcoin. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to hunt Google for an image to end this post before I lose anymore respect from you or others.

Don't ask what key words I used to find this image.

I was joking  Cheesy. I like the image, too.

Help Bitcoins by buying clothes, technology, books, etc. through people/stores that accept BTC. This will increase overall value of BTC as well as mitigate unnecessary bank transaction fees.

I read somewhere that all you get for doing such on this forum is 500 lashes with a wet noodle. Since I'm into pain, I'm hoping the noodle is el dente. I just tried what you suggested, and I think I clicked the wrong button. But since I was on a newly created page, I reported you to the moderator for picking on me.

Seriously, thank you kindly, psy,for the advice, although now my post count won't climb as fast. I truly missed that option, although I've seen post where they've quoted several other posts, but I thought they did it the hard way--copy and paste. mY bAd!

I'm going to try it now, to see how it feels.

I was joking  Cheesy. I like the image, too.

WOW! That felt good!

Thank you kindly, SmokeAndMirrors, for that clarification. (BTW, the WoW! That felt good! comment was not part of this reply to the quoted post).

Guys, wake up. This is a great idea. Maybe Justin Bieber wasn't the best example, but this could very well work, done to the right person.

You are all blundering idiots for turning this thread into a bunch of misreadings, jokes, and going completely off topic.

Where do you get off defending me, Reacon (LOL). Thank you kindly for your comments. As you know, we (or anyone here) can just go up to some celebrity or notable and say "hey. take a look at this! and blah blah blah". It would have to come from within their organization. It's not like Bitcoin is like Nike where they would wear our shoes and get paid handsomely for doing such. But like I outlined earlier in this thread, all they would have to do is wear a small sized logo, but before they do that, stake a claim on X amount of Bitcoin. When the price is right, cash a few out and/or buy something with it. Think about where Willie Nelson would spend his Bitcoin. That thought alone has the potential of  spiderwebbing (damn spell checker--that has to be a word!--I ain't changing it cause it drives the smoke point home). But hell with that aspect of Bitcoin.

There are good ideas, as well as bad ideas on this board. The good ideas should be embraced and made better. The bad ideas should be shown WHY they're bad ideas, but offer up WHAT IFS. Image then, what could be hashed (that word needs to be changed, for starters) from this forum, to spring Bitcoin forward. I'm pretty sure my Bitcoin haiku won't do it, but when you think about it, Bitcoin is poetic.

More Comments? (I do agree with most of you about JB--EFF him!!!--unless he embraces Bitcoin for the betterment of all of us, then God Bless JB [no, not Jesus of Bitcoin--but that does have a funny ring to it])

Comments???

Sorry: Image of Justin Bieber's Jesus tattoo not included in this post. Don't believe there is one? Google it! Sic!!!

My humorous post was meant this way: How did you know that I registered biebercoin.com on Godaddy--Did you gain...?

Hmmm, the thread is getting better (especially with the blood/body)

It might not need to be someone famous, but could be a team.  I follow the F1 motor racing (with a better JB participating) and they are great at spending money.  Some drivers seek sponsorship, at least one driver listed himself on the sharemarket a few years back.  If you contacted one of the "poorer" teams and said let your fans donate to your team in bitcoin, then that would make some interesting news.  Probably better examples, but that's one.

Interesting points!

Don't ask me how, but after reading your post, my mind came up with the following comment. Upon reading it, you'll agree that no way I should of thought of this, but I did--nonetheless.

What if time:

What if some high school teachers introduced Bitcoin to their Economics 101 class? What if somebody started a Bitcoin Club in school? The club's main role could be to help the other clubs, in their school, raise funds for their special projects. Juniors always raise the capital needed to make the prom a success for themselves and the Seniors (who did the same the year prior). The beauty of this idea--it's these kids that will have the first opportunity to use Bitcoin on a daily basis once their out of school. They'll always know that their the ones who helped fledge it and gave it wings to soar.

Allow me to do the math on this. I think you'll find it interesting.

There are approximately 63,000 public schools in America. Say only 1/3 of them start a Bitcoin Club. That equals 21,000 schools. Now let's say that each club has, on average, 10 members. That equals 210,000 students. (if you see where this is going, please don't tell the rest of the class). Now imagine if each student spends, on average, $100 worth of Bitcoin during the course of a school year. That would equal $21,000,000. Does this number look familiar?

Well, we can convince him to use Bitcoin in the way Satoshi described, to receive paid fan mail.
I'm sure Charlie would find something on Silk Road to spend the Bitcoin  Tongue
