First time trying win10 for mining, so after downloading some insane amouny of GBs (updates) now it doesn't install them. It gets stuck at preparing to install (in settings -  Updates) in various percentages for hours like at 33%, 78% etc. and finally it somehow completed and then said error retry, something like that. So how do I do this ? I can't even update my gpu drivers from device manager and if I try to install drivers from cd it says the current OS is not supported.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Just do a fresh install and start again. Simplest way to try and rectify the updates problem.

Are you sure the OS is not corrupt?

I think the OS installation is easy if the OS is not corrupt let alone for new SSD

70 percent of the people using the windows platform to mine the alts getting more issue better you can swap to Linux platform to error free mining. I hope you may use awesome miner. If yes, you would not get the hashing properly.

When get the update issue I have swapped to perfect mine OS to start mining. There are people really looking to get error free mining to get the hassle free mining when they are travel and etc. For them this would be the perfect choice.

Already using HiveOS for months now, before that I was using SimpleMining OS. HiveOS is good but I recently tried Pheonix miner on my desktop and loved it. Ccminer also work bad in HiveOS.

Try to clean install windows 10. Than you can update the system. I think you problem cause by some file system error, or if you wan't to clean install, you can do special command like SFC / scannow to fill back system file.
But if you want simple step, please just reinstall the windows.

Reinstalled windows and it did install some updates after downloading some fu*king amount of GBs. Now I have installed 2 gpus and it is showing an exclamation mark on 3rd gpu. tried uninstalling and it is still there. Installing gpus is so frustrating, in Linux it's plug and play. It is also showing 3.45 gb ram instead of 4 gb even though it is 64 bit os on x64 processor.
