Hi,

I am buying new laptop and selling my old one. I want to know how i can transfer my metamask to new laptop without using phrase.

Is there anyway i can copy the data and paste on new system? If yes where are the files stored.

Any help or suggestion will be highly appreciable.

Thanks

Download the metamask extension plug
You are going to need your seed code which you generated during the former registration and sign in with  your former metamask password. You are good to go!

You can export private key from your old laptop's metamask to the new metamask that you have installed on your new laptop.

There are 2 ways to log your ETH wallet. You can use your saved seed words and password to log a new Metamask wallet. Next one is you have to export your private keys from the older wallet and import it to the new one.

MetaMask uses something called "hierarchical deterministic wallets" (gory details) to generate addresses. Essentially, the addresses that you generate are determined solely by the "seed phrase." The first time you run MetaMask, it will generate a seed phrase for you, and then when you install MetaMask on other computers, you can "restore" from the same seed phrase. This means that the same addresses will be generated in the same order.

Use the seed you got while registering the wallet on your original PC

You can export private key from your old laptop's metamask to the new metamask that you have installed on your new laptop.
