Well, first of all I'm very curious if there's already a solution on improving the voting system so it won't be easily cheated.  Undecided

It has been made in Sierra Leona as a kind of experiment. It was run by a private company called Agora, and the purpose was to determinate if the use of the Blockchain could secure the electoral process.
Read more in here: https://techcrunch.com/2018/03/14/sierra-leone-just-ran-the-first-blockchain-based-election/
Now, from my perspective, actually, the Blockchain technology could even change the way we vote into a more secure system, but some problems need to be solved:
- Mining. Who are going to be the miners? Volunteers? Because if the mining power resides in just an enterprise (Like the Agora case), then it shouldn`t be believed as a fair system.
- How to purchase your vote. Of course, voting can be managed as a Blockchain transaction, but how can anyone be sure that the votes are in fact legit?

Anyway, I do see a future in which elections are going to be based on the Blockchain tech. This is a matter of time that this two tiny problems will be solved. I don`t know, maybe smart contracts have something to say, maybe a new system of electronic voting. But it is coming, I think.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Blockchain as it is a public record in which everybody can take a look and cannot be undo, this is something what we need to promote transparency in our election system where previous administration's corruption affected the outcome of the election systems. Where elite and powerful people take advantage on it. With what blockchain can offer, the government should invest on research for future use of this innovation. looking for the greater good of the people in our country.

I’ve done software work for state governments including one that was hacked and all I can say is Blockchain is far too complex a subject for politicians to understand. They won’t trust it.

If this involves transparency and the blockchain technology of ensuring the correct number of votes per candidate, I think this will be awesome.  There are some countries that have issues on the cheating in their election process, moreover their lack of technology to count the vote also contributes to the miscount of votes.

Yes! I do believe blockchain will change the way we vote! Using blockchain ensures transparency. Since it is designed to keep immutable records, no one can vote twice and the organized database will guarantee that each vote is verifiable –all done while maintaining privacy.
Say you build the best blockchain for voting the right leaders in "POWER" ..  How do you stop them from getting BRIBED ?..

You can have the best voting system in the world BUT how do you stop the winner of an election from becoming corrupt in someway ?..

Yes good to have a good voting system that proves the winner is the winner of an election BUT  that's not the problem    the problem is the monies ..
When leaders get in power they make themselves rich and cronies ..

Look IMAGINE?  I win a fair vote  so now I am the leader?   So now because I have the say as the leader I get to say what goes on in our country..
Have you got that bit?..

Now everyone from 5 years old has to brush teeth in schools from 5 to 18  BUT   you need to use these types of toothbrush BECAUSE they are nice to the earth..
Now these cost 1 pounds each  BUT really my friend BOB makes them for 10p  now we have 10 million 5 to 18 year olds spending 1 pounds on a tooth brush every how long?..

Now my friend BOB says to me your cut for making everyone use my tooth brushes is 20p in every tooth brush bob sells..
Now say the leader makes 500k a year   that's just 1 perk off 1 business  imagine how many more they can do ?..

And this is POLITICS ..The secret meetings for kickbacks   that in the end make your average joe pay for NOTHING..
Take medicine   WHO do you thinks gets the kickbacks off legal drugs  and why do you think they charge so high prices  Wink..

So sorry to pop your bubbles BUT  no matter who you vote for 9/10 times  they will take the MONIES..
Money does give you a better life though and that's the reason why HUMANS take it..

There are some issues need to be solved:
  • System's user can have only one «account» (or «wallet») to vote. Nobody can vote twice.
  • Nobody can't see your vote. To be clear, everyone can see it, but didn't know that it is YOU.

As I know, first issue is hard to implement, without making second one... But it is temporary problem =)
Blockchain would allow for votes to be stored in a system, where it would be near impossible to change them. Unfortunately, the problem with a lot of elections is not the transmission or storage of votes. What you would need to do to is control the input. Corrupt governments often falsify elections by forcing people to vote and by voting for people who they know won't vote anyway. Blockchain would not fix this problem. It may help make elections more secure, but there are a lot more problems to deal with.

It sound funny and somehow crazy but with the turn out of events, almost anything humanly possible can be achieved with blockchain. many things answer to Blockchain because it is one sure way of minimizing or outright stopping of corruption. it won’t be a bad idea to bring Blockchain into voting. Any platform that is able to achieve this will be in high demand world over during election periods. I wonder if smart contract will still be involved here or we do Blockchain auto detect fingerprint machines and write smart contract code into it. It is a very cool idea. Wish I am capable of this innovative invention to change the world forever.

If the voting system is implemented as a blockchain, i.e. a decentralized ledger, it surely will change a lot. That way we will have a more transparent voting which will prevent any fraud and thus we might have a more trustworthy control over voting process.

It can make an election fair for all the participants it can be access by others but it cant be change. Blockchain is the answer to avoid unfair fight between politician that always wants is to get an advantage to the people. If blockchain approve in the Election it can be a lot of help and ease to all of the people. But the problem is how will the government know if the real voter they must secure the voters info so that they can filter the fake votes on the elections.

That will change the game forever ,we could stop the corruption on elections as we all know how voting is now days nobody cant know if your vote even goes to right place ,too many humans are invole in that so mistake and corruption is inevitable ...blockchain can bring only more fair voting in compared from today

Yes. It will definitely change the way of voting as it would solve most of the election challenges. Thereby reducing the abnormalities and irregularities that characterized voting. Since the blockchain represent only one person-you, then its one vote per person. But probably not everybody might have access, as it is a new development. But with time.

Blockchain has the potential to completely revolutionize the way we vote. For example it could lead to the creation of a truly decentralized secure system that could automatically create accounts for all voters and allow them to vote through a platform of their choice. If they still wanted to go into a polling station, they could do so. And they could also use a government-approved website or smartphone that would access and record data through the blockchain

I agree, although block chain could actually solve some problems with electronic voting the data protection is a serious problem.
Forget about voting systems with block chain if data is not protected. BTW I have seen some ICOs who do promise to work with this kind of thing but that does not mean that they will solve the problems needed to implement this.

At the minimum I would like to see every ballot cryptographically secured, such that each ballot can be linked to the master key. None could then be independently printed or created.

Clearly paper ballots with blockchain would be superior to electronic voting machines.
