So apparently i mined for several days on a fork of some kind for GPL because I don't know how else I can lose over 450 GPL coins that I mined myself. I still have the old blockchain and when I load it, it shows my old balance still. I mined off a node that had consistently up to 16 peer connections which seems about max for this coin. Right now this blockchain i'm on is 12hrs old and wont sync anymore. It's stuck on block 370260. Is this kind of thing normal? Several days and fully confirmed (over 3k confirms on the oldest ones) transactions just go poof?

Now I'm stuck with this fully synced short balance using a blockchain from a different fully synced node.

This is ridiculous. Oh and to top things off this wallet takes forever to start up no matter what its almost unusable. Once i have it finally loaded I hope i never have to close the program because of how slowly it loads up.

Hmm, are those POS coins? How could you mine almost 1 block per second? That's really screwy!
Maybe you didn't loose the coins, more like you've never earned them.
Care to share how you mined them?

Those are not seconds they are minutes. It goes HH:MM check for yourself.

And those earnings are what I would have earned if the client did not secretly fork for several days or had I been on the pool or on some other coin.

Here I see someone with 80khash on the pool with an estimated 325 GPL per day.

http://gplcoin.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

I was actually less profitable then this while I mined the coins that I lost over several days.

Here is my rig for reference: http://postimg.org/image/orwyacfen/

Here I just started it up and already 2 blocks found on the screen.
Here they are on the pool: http://postimg.org/image/7411ybx5z/

No POS, it doesn't kick in until 365 days later... Honestly...

I think the fork is my fault indirectly.

I had a VPS running with all the coin daemons needed for the exchange. I removed them all as they were no longer needed for their intended purpose, as the VPS will be hosted elsewhere.  I should have checked before removing.  I removed it about a week ago.

I know that, I was afraid of another big wallet malfunction since I thought he was getting 1 block every second.

@tonobitc, heartfelt sorry for your losses. Nice 7 GPU rigs, btw! Hope you'll make it up soon.

@Scifi, I am not sure if it's entirely that. There are a lot more activities with the 3 coins, probably because the exchange is about to launch. I used to see 6-7 connections on GPL, but I saw up to 18 in the new server.

I finished re-syncing my wallet with the block explorer, and everything is well on my end.

Ok guys, I have some KED in my mining pool and figured it's time to withdraw them. The only problem is I don't want to keep it on my computer wallet. Can I get the link of the scifi coin exchange?

Also, is the windows wallet client readY?

the exchange is not ready yet if you don't want to keep the coins i'm sure you can send to someone to hold for you or make a paper wallet

copy wallet.dat and the goldpressedlatinum.conf somewhere safe

remove everything as you did for the other node then replace the wallet.dat and .conf files and restart

There may be a band-aid fix I can try, but to solve the core problem we need more nodes online, more people mining/using the coin.

The long-start up has been on list for some time, but there were/are more show stopping problems with Darsek and UFC that needed attention first.

I also want to remind people that I inherited the problems with the coins, I am not the original developer. To fix Darsek I had to completely rebuild the coin client/block chain from scratch (Using Novacoin as the base).  I do it for free because I believe in the potential of these coins. So before somebody goes off on a tangent about the issues the coins are having, remember I am the sole developer of the coin client/daemons here and I am working as hard as I can to get them up to snuff.

Even on my b-day...I turned 43 today Wink

Happy birthday!

You are doing a good job.
One little question, in the KED wallet, is there a way to show the icons on top in english instead of Klingon? Thanks.

Any plans on getting UFC/KED/GPL listed on other exchanges other than the scifi exchange?. I can understand the devs wanting the coins only listed on one exchange but its not fair to coin holders being forced to trade on one exchange.

At least lets try to get the coins listed on Cryptsy so that we can increase interest in the coins and get some more hashing power securing the network.

Right now my effort is getting SciFiCryotoCoins, WebsitSite content started, exchange tested and forums talking, etc. I think it will be easier to get the coins on a second exchange once the SciFi exchange is up.

I think those coins should stay on they Exchange in the begining,  those 3 are there flagship coins, the very reason the idea fo the Exchange was started in october, after that if it has enough momentum, we can start push to other exchanges.  I think there is alot of intersest in the star trek forums for these coins, plus there are alot of nerds out there(like me) who will get into them .

j

HAIL CHTULHU

p.s.  i also think we shouldnt Add UFOcoin, i beleive its one of those coingen.io coins, wich means it is made with a fundamentally flawed version of bitcoin, and it also means developer doesnt knw how to code so there will be no way to fix it when it breaks, and i think dreamwatcher has enough work on his hands to not get tricked into fixing another coin.

p.p.s  Happy Birthday Dreamwatcher
