Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

LOL

better a joke than a scam like ixcoin.

I know this gets tiresome for you, but every time i see you attack i0coin which was specifically created due to concerns people had with ixcoin, I am going to respond in kind. I'm actually surprised you keep linking to that, since it highlights why it was actually made.

there can be room for all of them. It is a free market after all. Ixcoin is still trading and nearly the same price as iocoins, people are still mining.

edit oh .. that isnt a real link.. just underlined text.. tricky
here is the "joke" thread

Quote
I have an idea! If anybody has an hour or two to spare, he can create:
- I0coin (= Ixcoin with 0 pregenerated blocks)
- IBcoin (= Ixcoin with all pregenerated coins intended for bounties). Bounty block would be the first one, it would generate 200k coins or whatever Ixcoin is offering (with all bounty coins public), after that generation would mimic Ixcoin.

Either way, I think people would jump from Ixcoin in notime (or realize the absurd idea of Ixcoin)

sounds more like concern than HAHA
