How to reach the next retaget. Still a lot of blocks to find and no miners at this high difficulty. I wonder the price did not crash yet. On the other hand there are no transfers in and out from and to the exchanges possible.
We should wish that hashco switches for a few hours to CAT but price is not good enough for that

The price didn't crash because there is a real community and people that believes on the coin (I'm not a big holder not even close, but I believe in this coin and I've been supporting catcoin since day one and still doing so more than ever and I'm sure I'm not the only one as you can see from previous replies). the dumpers moved along, and now only faithfull owners left. Transfering in and out of of exchanges is still possible, but it is pretty slow right now! althought after the next 10 blocks I don't recomment any transfer, as the fork is imminent If you guys have a better suggestion then by all means we're all ears, I'd much rather implement a permanent fix. But I have to say this: This coin does not currently have the life left in it to survive what would likely be a several month development/deployment process to properly test some of the more complex solutions. Please for the sake of CAT, either put up some ideas, or support one of the already proposed solutions.
Gravity well, this solutions has been mentioned a couple of times, the code is available, proven to work perfectly on othercoins, and I didn't see a single argument against it. But again according to the conversations on #catcoin-dev it seems that we are beyond developpement phase, and we are at the final tests and tweaks before the fork, so for now I don't think it's a good idea to backtrack, but what I want to suggest is once the fork is implemented, the developpment on a final more polished version should be started, including a solutions like that, and fixing any possible errors/issues that might occure in this fork. Also I have another question that I didn't see mentioned anywhere to this point, which is in regard of insta/pre mining (I think the high diff would prevent the insta mining tho), do you guys have put in place some measure to prevent this ? (I'm following the dev channel and didn't see anything on this regard, maybe I missed it).

The idea is to put the SMA36LIM12 into place at the end of the high difficulty period without any iniital downward adjustment, and since it is averaging the last 36 (which would be the 36 high difficulty blocks) so the difficulty should begin a gradual (I assume 12% per block) descent, so there should not be insta-mining issues like in the last fork where the difficulty was artificially reset lower. What happens if a pool enters CAT again and the 16 Blocks get eaten UP in short time

What happens if a pool enters CAT again and the 16 Blocks get eaten UP in short time At the current difficulty and price, a 1000 MH/s pool can make $15,000 USD per day mining DOGE, $10,000 USD per day mining LTC, and less than $3,600 USD per day mining CAT. Why would anyone with serious mining power give up the $2000+ in profits that it will take to get through the next 15 blocks? Even if CAT did hit the retarget, the diff would only drop by 4x (to about 27), so unless the price rose dramatically, CAT would still be equally profitable to DOGE (about $15k USD per GH/s per day for both). It just doesn't make sense for anyone who is mining for BTC or USD return.

catcoin.pw, Coinium, and Team Catcoin appear to be the only live ones. But renting rigs is expensive, if you want back in that badly just pm me and I'll sell you some.

FYI everyone - your DEVs are finalizing the fork code right now. They're also putting finishing touches on the wallets (you're gonna like these!). And...we already have a pool running the new code. Caturday's coming early this week. Stay tuned everyone... Andy

After this work is done, next target to be and STAY succesfull is - retargeting using "Kimoto Gravity Well" algorithm
IF you need help to do this, we should all come together with a bounty - dev on other coins made it without any problem. What i don´t know how to do i have to buy !!!
LPC already did it !
