The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

hello all,

becouse of that reason i did not downloaded that wallet, please provide a legimit wallet from original website link pls
There will be no more wallets posted on the catcoin.pw links in the original post as that site is owned by KR105 and he is no longer part of catcoin.  Sorry, but there's nothing we can do with that domain any longer.

Feel free to pull the wallet from the temporary Sourceforge link:
edit... the permanent home is active; the temp Sourceforge archive is now closed.

You can also try the permanent home for wallets but because we're still building the new infrastructure it might take a few hours for DNS to update around the world:
http://catcoinwallets.com/win/CatWallet0890.zip

Also - the windows package is a self-extracting archive.  It is not an installer.  The archive contains both the catcoin-qt.exe wallet and the catcoind.exe headless node.  There's also a readme and a sample catcoin.conf.  You can put the files anywhere you like - there are no additional files needed to run the wallet.

Source:
https://github.com/CatcoinOfficial/CatcoinRelease

And always - make a copy of your wallet.dat before changing any wallet software.

If the OP info isn't editable...

then this operation will become very troublesome and risky I think.

Maybe consider to open a new thread?

hello all,

where can i get a legimit wallet ? from orginal source ? no installer but stand alone wallet? main page download is down ??
this is a link to the brand new fork ready wallet

Windows Wallet

All my CAT is now gone. Be safe people!
How many cats did you lose and can you tell us what happened?
we want to resolve this issue...
ISSUE IS RESOLVED.

Here's what happened:

1. I ran the new catcoin-qt.exe (5 files installed). The first time I ran it I got the message above.
2. Ran it again and my balance was zero.
3. Copied my backed up wallet into the roaming directory and ran it again. I received the same error. It had backed up the restored wallet.dat in the roaming folder and had created a new wallet.dat.
4. Restored a backed up copy of catcoin-qt.exe including roaming folder and still received the same message. At this point I believed they were gone.
5. Decided to start again.
6. Wiped everything and downloaded a new copy of catcoin-qt.exe
7. Started the program to create the roaming folder again.
8. Stopped the program and copied in the backed up wallet.dat
9. Started the program and received the error again
10. In the roaming folder I noticed that it had backed up the wallet.dat to a new name but hadn't created a new wallet.dat, so I copied in the backed up wallet.dat again.
11. When I started it again, it came up showing my balance of CAT as unconfirmed.

They have now been confirmed.

Apologies if it caused a stir. I wasn't expecting anything to go wrong!

Great that you have fixed the issue, i must admit that error looks slimey though.

Just curious, has the new diff smoothing algo been tested against a step function decrease of over 100x? Because that's what it's going to see after the fork, and I don't like my first impressions on considering what the function response is going to be. I'm thinking diffs will drop below 1; please tell me I'm wrong.

Thanks for this info, TheTribesman.  I ran this on 4 machines (Win 7/32 and Win 7/64) before release and did see the wallet backup, but had no errors.  Sorry you did!

Your previous wallet - was it a stand-alone wallet or the version that 'installed'?  If it was a stand-alone wallet, then you're done.  If it was a package that installed, you might want to make a copy of your wallet.dat, then go to start/control panel/programs and features and uninstall the old catcoin wallet.

When I uninstalled my old wallet, it did NOT delete the AppData/Roaming/Catcoin folder, but always back-up wallet.dat just in case.

Sorry for the heart-attack moment but very glad your cats are still safe and sound.

you are wrong. dif will be 108 at the fork and adjust at 12% per block according to network hashrate... it will gradually step down...

Exactly, it will adjust 12% down... for 35 blocks, bc the last block time will be over 6 hours. That brings it down to 1 (since 108 x .88^36 is about 1)

Yes Envy, we've hit the testnet with hashrates to simulate our average low rate with 20x and ~80x increases to simulate pool switching.  The difficulty rises quickly with the increased hash rate - and then falls smoothly if/when the hash rate falls.  We think this will work quickly and smoothly enough that we will significantly reduce our attraction to switching pools.  The days of 'feast or famine' CAT mining should be over in about 5 blocks.

Do the pools know about the fork? Because it doesn't seem like it.

Are all of the exchanges on the new chain?
Also is coinium the only pool on the new chain? as they have 25M/hash and the NET hash rate is only 0.02G/hash?
