Hey guys,

Im planning on building my first mining rig.
What do you guys think about my planned setup, any improvements needed?

CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 2x 3.50GHz So.1151

GPU: 6x 4GB AMD Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ (Samsung Memory) H/2xDP/DVI (im still thinking about changing to 6x 8GB Asus Radeon RX 580 OC Dual Aktiv PCIe 3.0) // any recommendations?

Power Supply: 1200 Watt Corsair HX1200 Modular 80+ Platinum

Mainboard: ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0 Intel H81 So.1150 Dual Channel DDR3 ATX Retail

Im getting the sdd, ram etc. from my old pc.

Thanks in advance!

Seems good to me, I have RX470 and RX570 and working great... But, if you have option I would definitely prefer 8GB version of GPU.

Thanks for the quick response!
Ok, and whats the advantage of a 8gb one? I mean the price difference is around $50..

Do you think this rig will last for a long time until it may get unprofitable?

I bought last year 8GB RX470 and after few months I bought 4GB RX570 and I’ve got better numbers with 470 and its also better for future, RX470 run just smooth,, there are opinions that 4gb shouldnt be sufficient in future and also you will sell 8gb version for better money in future. But its only for your consideration, I have both and will definitely choose 8gb again if there is not too big price difference.

Alright, Im gonna go for the 8GB Sapphire Radeon RX 580 then..

BTW: when will they release new ones?

dude, right now ethereum is the most profitable coin and the cards need to load the whole DAG file into the ram of the gpu... every 30,000 blocks the DAG file grows by 8,5mb so one day the 4gb ram will be too low to mine ethereum and you will be forced to mine other coins... so if its only 50$ then spend it on the 8gb ram gpus...

Nice plan rig mining. I can suggest / prefer please to take RX570 8gb version, that's more suitable for next future mining. And for the other hardware, i think that's enough for mining rig. And please to use minimum 4gb ram and 132gb ssd, for more comfortable your rig. Happy mining Smiley

Bitcoin is heavily dependent on this mining process. Due to the mining carried out by miners Bitcoin will validate every transaction, build and store the new block into blockchain. To save the new blocks into the Blockchain, miners must reach consensus.

if mining on Ethash algorithm like ETH still has the status "POW" and have Dag Size more 4GB then you still can mine ETH but if your GPU has 4GB (VRAM of GPU) then you can not mine it.

no one knows except just a prediction.

Good configuration, I hope it will mine 300 to 500 USD per day.

It wont reach it, this is purely a dream, and impossible as of the moment

current profitability for 6x RX470 is around 10bucks per day

Lol

As @leonix said

Are you a GPU miner?
If yes, of course, you have mining farm but i hesistate to get $300-$500 per day for the above configuration although "a hope" nonetheless, should see the reality (diff, hashrate, coin prices) for now.

Thanks for alle the responses! I really appreciate it!
Im gonna keep you guys posted.

One last question: The electricity cost in my country is really bad.. I need to pay nearly 0,28 USD/kw/h..

Do you guys think this should be a reason not do it? Ive done some calculations and right now it still seems profitable...

That motherboard and CPU are not compatible (socket 1151 CPU and socket 1150 motherboard)

This is the correct one:

EDIT: Also, if you re-use your ram is it DDR4?

No its not, the worst moment was 2-3 months ago. FPGAa are only rumors for me for now. They may become real players or they may not. Speculations. ASICs are real ofc, but my GPUs are still very profitable.
Hi diff on all coins? Exagerrate much?

GPUs are still the kings of flexibility. If you love mining you can earn good money still. But its not plug and play. It takes a lot of dedication, tinkering and research.
