Last 3 movies I've seen were: Gravity, Prisoners and Riddick. First 2 were great, last one sucked.

Gravity was definitely great, though I thought most of it was due to its technical excellence. I'm curious to see if it'll hold up on a smaller screen on Blu Ray. It was definitely meant to be an experience.
Watching Fast Five as we speak!

Just came back from seeing 12 Years a Slave... Pretty epic film!
As for Hobbit 2, it ended up being long, boring and deprived of any interesting story. Ah, well.

No surprise there then. None whatsoever. It's like Peter Jackson realizes that whatever he does, LOTR fans will eat this crap up. His old style and storytelling abilities went out the window. I'd love to see him make a low budget gory horror film. |

I've not seen any of Peter Jackson's films other than KK and LOTR, but the only people who ever recommend me his earlier stuff are PJ fanboys, so I usually disregard it haha.

Peter Jackson directed Prisoners? No, that was Denis Villeneuve... But he did direct Lovely Bones (which I thought was inferior to Prisoners in every aspect) I read The Lovely Bones and then watched the film after. Both were ok. Had no idea Jackson Directed it though. |

The Bilbo's house party, which in the book is just a few pages, takes forever to watch in the movie. He made it soo boring there's not even a shadow of LOTR epicness left in this movie.

I know you probably won't see it, but the second movie has action sequences that weren't in the book, yet take up 10 minutes of screen time. Utterly useless. |
