Just watched "wolf of wallstreet". Must watch, similar to boiler room and other business related.
I'm downloading Boiler Room now. Not heard of it before, so thanks for the rec. I was gonna download Wolf of Wall Street but apparently all the nude/orgy scenes are cut out so I'll probably just wait lol. Just watched Wolf of Wallstreet too. It's good. Will check out Boiler Room. it's kind of too long 3 hours was stopped from watching by something else, never resumed, too damn long

I have never seen this, but I thought it was it just like an 80s chickflick or something, but I see it isn't lol. I wonder if I was getting it mixed up with something?

It's a classic, It's so classic it's in black and white! (prob why so many havent seen it) Even more classic that it had already been meme-ed during bugs bunnys time! And you have prob seen some parts a thousand of times in other storys without knowing where it came from ) q#here's to looking at you kid.. q#Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine... q#This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship....

It's an amazing film. I've watched my DVD quite a few times... If you haven't already, check out Roger Ebert's commentary!

If by properly scary film, you mean something that's actually scared grown men into submission, I'd nominate .Rec. It's a Spanish film and it gets quite freaky. The sequels suck and the American remake sucks even more, though. It's the first that comes to mind randomly, but if you tell me which other horror films you like, I can give you a couple of other recommendations as well.

REC2 didn't suck, it was actually pretty good. beatup666 -- not sure what you mean by "properly scary" because there are really no films these days that are actually scary, maybe because I'm not a kid anymore... but I'm still a fan of the genre because it's thrilling and keeps me in the edge. REC is a good one and can be slightly scary to some people. If you like thrillers and slashers High Tension, À l'intérieur and Sinister were good too. The Conjuring was not bad, I didn't find it scary though. I just watched a movie called You're Next and it was actually really enjoyable and had some twists that made it above average imo... would watch with a girl who enjoys this stuff. Has anyone seen Rush or Captain Phillips? Was thinking of watching one of these soon

The Conjuring was not bad, I didn't find it scary though. Sinister was pretty good and quite eerie, but was spoiled by the ending. I reckon it would've been better as a reality-based psychological horror and not some supernatural crap.

I've seen both... Rush was surprisingly good. I wasn't too excited about it but the story kept me involved the entire way through. I'm not an F1 fan either, if it makes a difference. Captain Phillips: I knew the whole plot going in but was still on the edge of my seat. If you like Paul Greengrass' style, I think you'll appreciate it.

Does anyone else not feel the least bit surprised at the Oscar nominations today?
I still have a couple of movies to take off my list (most notably Her and Nebraska though the latter doesn't interest me too much) but I'm fairly happy to see Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle and Captain Phillips getting a good amount of nods.
Not that Oscars really mean anything, but still.

Watched Blue Jasmine last night. Great portrayal of someone descending into complete madness... There were even some scenes that were a bit awkward to watch.
Andrew Dice Clay was well utilized, too.

I watched "The Internship" last night: you know, the one that was created to promote Googles products and services via the comic duo: Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Aside from a few laugh out loud moments, the only real highlight (for me at least) was this beauty: Dem gnashers

Did Vince Vaughn do his Vince Vaughn acting with His Vince Vaughn voice and his Vince Vaughn face? Haha, look at his Vince Vaughn face. Did Owen Wilson do His Owen Wilson acting? I bet together they make a hilarious team! Has anyone seen them both in "Some Sort of Disagreement"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JofDOQjHxP0
