when was spielberg's last smash hit? i don't remember him doing anything of note in, say, the past 10 years.
edit: forgot he did lincoln. it was a fairly good hit.. but i found it boring as hell.
I don't think he's done anything amazing in over a decade, but one of my personal favourites of his is Minority Report and I think that's the last one I loved. I haven't seen it in a few years so it might be time to give it another blast.

Has anyone seen "That Awkward Moment?" Looked prefty fnny while it was in the theaters.
It got panned by the critics. Haven't seen even the trailer though. Panned is putting it nicely. It got absolutely annihilated by critics: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/that_awkward_moment/I'll still watch it though. People seem to have enjoyed it somewhat from the audience reviews. I'm sure there'll be a couple of laughs in it and the critics were probably being overly harsh like they usually are with these types of comedies. So I just watched The Awkward Moment. It was shit. Not worst film of all time shit, but really pretty shitty in almost every aspect. Piss-weak plot and dialogue, really shit ending, and most important for a comedy, next to zero laughs. Laughed out loud once during the whole film. It's really one of those films where you wonder how it ever made it past just being another shitty script.

E.T. Was probably Spielberg's last hit lol. That was Spielberg right? You're going back quite far there. He's had plenty of 'hits' since. It's not like any of his films have done poorly at the box office.

He is already 67 years old, well past his prime. He was the executive producer of Men in Black 3 (2012), which collected more than $600 million in the box-office. Other than that, not much to speak of recently. Films such as The Adventures of Tintin, War Horse, and Cowboys & Aliens were dull and boring. Well... I am watching out for Jurassic World, which will be releasing next year.

I haven't really loved one of his films in over a decade, but I'm pretty sure they've all done very well at the box office.

Some of them did OK at the box-office. But most of his recent films were just average (with the exception of Men in Black 3). For example, Cowboys & Aliens collected less than its budget expenses from the box-office.

I'm sure he didn't have that much input on them s well. Producers tend to very rarely do much on films these days and are just attatched to put a big name on them and collect a nice little paycheck for doing nothing much at all.
