To become rich was the very first attraction point, at least for me.
Since then I am now much more interested in the technology and the economic around it.
It's incredible if you think about it: a currency/commodity "good enough" to be used to buy almost anything, not backed by any other commodity or government (as we know it today  )

People that get involved with bitcoin thinking it is an easy way to get rich are going to be disappointed. Even in Bitcoinland, in order to get rich you will have to do a lot of work, or risk a lot of money.

Or be very lucky. I'm finding that luck is one of the key things in what many call "success".

My time lurking here tells me that almost anyone who has a negative opinion of crypto is full of "FUD". The overwhelming majority of users here are in it for the long-term. Their faith gives value to this currency.

Why someone who doesn't believe in its viability would spend time here is beyond me, but hey...

Well, I guess most IT guys out there see a good potential behind the crypto currency thing, its not only the currency itself, but also another great way for authentication/authorization/anonimity over the evolving Internet.
The wealth part is nice, but its basically a side effect of the inflation/deployment of crypto currency, so its basically your risky reward for supporting it at this stage.

I would lie if I said I'm not hoping to make some money here.
But the whole thing is much more. We're just starting something, that could easily change the way our world is run.
Bitcoin and the altcoins were just the beginning - keep your eyes open for 2nd gen projects, like nxt and bitshares. If you don't know about the concepts of DACs yet go and read about it.

We might get unlucky too. Bitcoin could fail or the price could crash and steady at a low amount or we could lose all or a lot of our money.

I'm not saying i'm here to become rich.... But at least make for the money spent in buying the hardware and start earning some extra cash in the next months!!

At some point you'll learn that you have to set yourself up to have an opportunity to even have a chance of being lucky.
