RELEASE - VERSION 1.5

This is a mandatory update before block 317000, approximately 5 days from now. The update consists of the following changes:

*Difficulty algorithm fixed. It now properly retargets every 10 blocks, with a maximum of 12% down, or 10% up.

PLEASE INFORM YOUR MINING POOLS, EXCHANGES, BLOCK EXPLORER, ETC ABOUT THIS UPDATE.

I will do my best to do this myself, but the more people spreading the word, the better. Last time, with 2 weeks noticed, we still had pools that failed to upgrade. Now, with only 5 days notice, it's imperative that everyone updates ASAP.

@artos - I just want to say thanks for all of your hard work on this...not many devs would be around to learn of issues with their coins, let alone fix those issues during the holidays.  Kudos to you man!  Grin

I have a newbie question.
If I already have some coins prior to this release of client, how do I upgrade to the latest version of the client.

Do I have to install the latest client and then transfer all my old coins to the new client address or is there an alternate way?

Thanks.

As good practice, backup your wallet using the backup function in the wallet client and put that file somewhere safe.

Then you just need to install the new wallet client (build it or take one of the prebuilt wallets), the data file doesn't get changed - that's what has the keys in that represent your coins. Fire up the new wallet client, it will sync with network and your coins will still be there.

Job done.
