Based on my hash rate when I use CGMiner of950 kh/s and the current difficulty of 0.584 I should be hhitting a block every 45 to an hour. I hit one block for 370 in the last 6 hours. Are my calculations wrong since this isn't CGminer?

Right when I hit send I mined a block. Only 40 though. But, a block nonetheless. However, I'm still puzzled why I'm not hitting blocks more often. If this was any other alt coin with a difficulty of 0.58 I would be hitting many more blocks

did you start up your wallet with a .bat containing "qqcoin-qt.exe - server"?
--topher--- that was meant for you. forgot to hit "quote".
I thought you enabled server through wallet. I run qt app and it says it's synched .conf rpcuser=u rpcpassword=p rpcallowip=192.168.1.5 daemon=1 server=1 listen=1 gen=0 port=20111 rpcport=20112 addnode=10.0.0.48 addnode=66.45.255.119 addnode=206.72.193.8 .bat cgminer --scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:20112 -u u -p p --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 17

How fast in theory should you find a block with a 5850 card? ( says 1.2mh/s speed in this miner) and with current difficulty (40)
Also im looking to buy 3k-10k of these coins! PM ME with offers

Yeah, it's ybcminer. Regular cgminer mining scrypt alone is never going to find anything valid.
Really, it's all pretty standard besides the above and the diff has just risen steadily in response to a pretty decent amount of hashrate. Of course, we hit a ton of orphans and stales, everyone should expect that by now. An adjustment algorithm capable of larger increases in diff might have been a good idea, but the 'trouble' period is mostly complete.
The first page really has all the information necessary to mine this coin.

Start Run CMD Opens a command (DOS) window Type qqcoin-qt.exe -server or to do the same thing but from a file you can run more easily Notepad, type in qqcoin-qt.exe -server save as "run.bat" in the same folder as qqcoin-qt.exe run the BAT file

I had over a 1000 orphans blocks earlier but am almost getting zero orphans now ...
Mining is quite smooth and the difficulty is steadily creeping up. By the next few days days we are probably going to need pools for some decent mining
If you want to start mining this is the time before it gets too difficult
Cheers

Can you explain clearly how to run the wallet with the -server in 2 ways? Thanks. I don't really understand what that means, but you have 3 options.
1) add '-server' to the qqcoin.conf within your roaming directory. 2) you can create a shortcut of the qq QT client launcher and add '-server' to the end of the 'target' field for the shortcut. 3) use cmd prompt to change to the directory of your client (let's say it's on your desktop for this example) and launch it, ie 'cd desktop\QQcoins-Windows-qt\QQCoin-qt.exe -server'.
Never mind, you guys got it

Because it's not comparable to the scrypt hashrates we are used to seeing, I get 4 mh/s from a 7950 without tweaking anything.
Reducing scan and expiry time to ~ 1 might still be a good idea, '--scan-time 1 --expiry 1'
