Catcoin had an even worse launch and look where it is now.
I think I can safely say I'm going to stick with Mooncoin for a while.

what is with all the brand new accounts typing in the huge font about this "scamcoin"... If you don't like it go pick one of the other 500 coins to go mine on... +1, I'd wager they are affiliated with the ddos

Some people, like me, can mine some seconds, and break, and re-mine, and re-break, and that's before source are available on github. So i think, that's can explain why 500 block was done.

Relax! Its working now and there was no premine. Some just insta mined due low diff. Now lets calm down and see what happens next. You guys seem to forget that EAC is 2% premined. Dev is holding 1.5 million USD worth of coins and theres no complains! Besides, EAC daemon was broker for 4 days after launch. No one gives the shit now. Dev swims in money and people just forgot all the bad extremely fast.

Why arent you complaining about Catcoin then? its the same
Because I wasn't there at the start. If it was like that why didn't you try to stop it? But I'm sure nobody will jump off this ship if as long as there's a chance they'll get some profit out of it. Doesn't matter what crap the OP has done. I tried, and I can tell you it's useless. People want the money.

Also here, only reports of cgminer about blocks found, no shares accepted. Is 250 khash too slow?

I got it to build by changing this in main.cpp int static generateMTRandom(unsigned int s, int range) { random::mt19937 gen(s); random::uniform_int_distribution<> dist(1, range); return dist(gen); }
To: int static generateMTRandom(unsigned int s, int range) { boost::random::mt19937 gen(s); boost::random::uniform_int_distribution<> dist(1, range); return dist(gen); }
I have no idea what it did as a result.

1) Multipool was up before the source was posted.
2) Multipool had 2 addresses, they took turns working on and off for the first 15 minutes.
3) There were 90 blocks when I compiled the source and synced.
There is nothing here to indicate a scam to me.
However, the launch is a mess for a few reasons:
1) Pre-announcing the coin means there will be a ton of pools and a lot of problems
2) Counting on one pool to be set up ahead of time as a way of being a "fair start" just means there's only one pool to DDOS for others to gain an advantage.
3) Hyping this coin up yet starting with such a low difficulty leads to problems.
Also, stop announcing coins ahead of time when all you have is a name.
Thanks for the reasonable analysis. Your points are all well taken, but what I will say is a success in all of this is that the blockchain did not fork! YAYY!! That means you get to keep all your premined scamcoins!!!!
