I've heard of such information before, but after checking it is the trick of the scammers. They will secretly steal your cryptos by asking you to transfer 0 ETH to an address to receive a free Token. So be careful when dealing with strangers. If the Airdrop campaign requires ETH to receive  Token, do not join.

Ow.. It's a selfdrop I received those already when I do nothing. But their are google forms that you need to sign up and invest if you have extra penny to invest. Receiving Airdrop from bounties are good way to earn coz they had a huge profit from ico stage.

Has anyone seen a crypto project where the devs distribute airdrops by asking people to send 0 ether? I have been involved in 2 of these types of airdrop but both failed, was dead, plan did not materialize. What would be someone's motivation in doing this kind of project?

Well you want to know the possible reason why you got no pay in airdrops.

No. 1 your chosen project for airdrop failed, the ICO failed thats why you did not recieved any token after the ICO end.

I would also like to say that do not focus on airdrops join some bounties you dont need to invest or pay any amount n the line just need effort to gain more than the 2 airdrop you joined and failed to received any amount.

If you're just losing a very small gas fee, and 0 eth is sent for the airdrop, why not?
Just make sure you don't divulge other personal info or priv key. Stay safe in the crypto space!

If someone asks you to send your money for the airdrop, this is fraud. The very meaning of airdrop is the free distribution of tokens. To receive them you may need to either fill out the form or register in the whitelist.
But do not send any money to anyone, do not give your passwords and specify not your main e-mail, as many projects are fraud. You will receive a lot of useless spam messages. Like "You won something - send us money and get a prize", "only you are offered a closed sale, send money and get a 100% bonus."
Do not believe this ever.

Thanks. The one I joined though does not involve any substantial amount, just send 0 ether, so I guess just few cents to spare for the network cost and once you send it you will then receive the airdrop coins instantly. Mostly it will be around 3K coins something like that. Perhaps it's just some ambitious dudes who wants to initiate a project, they will generate coins using ethereum network create a contract and make an announcement to participate and once they see many participants that's the only time they will start in doing the project. Due to lack of knowledge and planning I bet mostly will fail but I am hoping to see someone finding a bit of success like being able to lunch a product, or create a whitepaper.

I think that 3k coins alone that you mention seems pretty fishy. I've joined many airdrops, not one asked for any ether to be sent, not even 0, and usually airdropping only a number of tokens/coins. 3k seems so high, unless it was accumulated on bounty tasks or referral, or what, but even then, 3k just seems a bit unbelievable. Even if it is legit, the value of the coins won't be much seeing as they distribute that high on an airdrop.

Don't do this kind of airdrop!
Because you send 0ETH to the other party's wallet, you also need to pay the transfer fee!
This new way of airdrops makes the project side really achieve near zero cost.
That's not worth, there is a lot of airdrop that has used this method and worth nothing at the end of story. I guess don't waste your money and your time for this scam airdrop shit token.
But people are being so crazy to think this airdrop will worth a lot in the future. The year of airdrop has passed.

I would be very careful with “zero sum” transactions. There are legitimate situations when you need to send a “zero sum” transfer to receive your token from the Ethereum contract, but would never do it for an airdrops; could be a way to hack your wallet.

This is a completely new way to get a lot of supporters through air drops.
However, I have always been curious about how this approach can be profitable. Huh

I am familiar with this method of airdrop and I am a beneficiary of one or two that really did well when they hit  exchange. Hydro and Enumivo readily comes to mind. The only thing required of you is the transaction fees to claim it. It's smart contract based. I made about a $1000  from Hydro. I am not sure I spent up to $2 on the fees I used to claim it

There is nothing will happen without cause or any cost in this world. If they are asking you for 0 Ether and want pay you money in the way of crypto then think a little bit what benefit they will accrue. And, also ask yourself that you own-self give some one money without ant any reason or in return for. They are in return asking your personal data and you don't know how far they will go to get benefit from these.

personally, I think if, you should stay away from the aerial air. Erc-20 is made very simple, many people make altcoin for ,
spam purposes and have no value because it's not a project. If you send 0ETH to other party's wallet, you also have to pay the transfer fee.

All the airdrops appearing in this format, I have stopped doing them for long especially the ones instructing people to send some amounts so they can receive something. Most of the '0 Format' airdrops too have also appeared to be shit coins. So, I don't waste my energy on such anymore.

I took part in several similar airdrops. Also in the telegram I consist in group where wrote data for the similar transactions. Naturally I tried to transfer 0 ether, the expense was only gas. Tokens have really sent. But now they still have no price and don't bargain anywhere. The percent of successful airdrops with such conditions seems to me it's very low. Good that on gas very small amount of ether has spent.

The first rule is to never send any money for the expectation to receive something back in return. An airdrop is simply a marketing tool and a way to distribute the tokens for creating a community.
Much better to stop involving on airdrops, it such a waste of time and effort to end up on nothing and sometimes make you to br scammed. No matter how good they present their project to gain the support of everyone, once the money involve on it, you have to keep away from it. Free does not involve any amount to get some token that you do not know if not fake.

I participated in airdrops before but I carefully choose which airdrop I will participate. i encounter airdrops that requires "Donation" with the given address with any ether amount. When I saw that in an airdrop campaign, I just ignore the campaign. I do not believe in those. First thing that enter my mind is "it is just a scam" so I am avoiding it. "Better to avoid it Guys"

It's never a good idea to participate in any airdrops that ask you to send BTC or ETH in order to receive them even if it's only a small amount

Most of these are scams and are simply designed to take your money and there are plenty of legitimate ones that don't require this so it's best to avoid them

do not repeat again that sort of thing. airdrop should not be sent, giving funds to them. If you like it then it can be sure it is a scam and is strongly not recommended to follow. airdrop is indeed full of the scam like that then it's better to always be careful.

By the way, and such a project - Ethereum Private https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4402172.0
They ask people to send 0.005 ETH and promise for it 1000 token automatic. But I read the chat in a telegram, It seems that no one has received tokens yet.
Do you think this is a scam?

Never join Airdrop which have to send money/coin. Maybe they are fake and you will not get anything, just losses.

I never follow airdrop like this, indeed there are really successful in the market but the comparison 1:10 and if there is one successful then airdrop similar will be popping up to take advantage of the trust a moment of success of the airdrop before.Whereas this kind of a new scam marketing so be careful with the airdrop system like this because most will be so trash coin.
