   BWAHAHAHA. Thanks. I needed that. Not sure why it is so amusing to me, but that made my day. Whatever the Howiecoin project is, whether it be legit or fake.... at least we can take comfort in knowing that John is all in.... or something......

Ok. Just a few minutes of research later, I, too, could clearly see that this is a scam/fake ICO. It was set up by the SEC in the U.S. I just couldn't post right away, cuz I'm still new to posting (I was a lurker for a long time before recently finally creating an account) so I had to wait 6 minutes....... Amusing, I suppose, but also crazy. It is pretty nuts to see some of the comments on here-- did you guys who are speaking positively of the "project" go to the website before promoting the "bounty?" Or, are you just trollin'/having a laugh? For anyone who has not gone to the website: If you try to click on "Buy Coins Now" buttons, it takes you here: https : // www. investor. gov / howeycoins ...... Kind of does highlight just how easy it can be sometimes to scam ...   |

I agree with you-- Overall, the language on the site was not any worse than what you see with the "real" projects out there. Just makes me wonder at how many people were posting things like "great project" and more positive crud, who obviously hadn't even thoroughly checked the website out...... or, maybe they DID, and were trolling to see how many people they could egg on and fool? Who knows. On a related note.... the proofreading perfectionist in me cringes when I see such mistake-ridden, confusing English in white papers and on websites for some of these projects, especially when they otherwise look promising. I can't help it. Sigh... |

Well at first I could not believe that Theymos is supporting an ICO??? When first I saw howeycoins's website it wasn't different from any other ICO website but images used in website made me think that no this can't be real... trust me after little more investigation and I was about to create thread tagging Theymos as that if he's trying to scam? Here is what I was checking 1. I checked the images on google found most of the images taken from shutterstock https://i.imgur.com/tY0LMRr.png2. Tried to search about the team found nothing but fraud https://i.imgur.com/Pq5YmeZ.png3. No linkedin profiles, or previous work experience of the team 4. Website all static (html) content 5. Multi staged ICO scheme I did not click Token Sale or Buy Coins button until I did my above few step investigation and after that it was all clear  |

Best ICO of the year.  I was a little scared when I saw the ICO for the first time. A ICO supportet by Theymos. Almost as good as the april fool this year. |

If anybody still isn't sure if this is true. I can say that this is a no-brainer for me and you are missing your own Lambo here. Finally ICO for almost everybody. No research needed, you can blindly invest all your money with a credit card. Profit guaranteed because HoweyCoin team will do regular pump and dups to push the price sky high as I read in the white paper. Missed so many trains, waited so long and finally here is Bitcointalk Exclusive ICO!!!

This is one of SEC efforts to educate naive investors about scam ICO endemic in the cryptosphere. It's good to see the authority made cooperations with Theymos and bitcointalk forum (It is just my theory) to do such massive campaign to educate and provide invaluable experience for crypto newcomers. Thanks Theymos, forum admin for doing this joke. |
