I wonder how they come up with all the non-USD currencies? Presumably they have to go through USD first, or use some non-USD exchange API. So why is USD rate down 9% but others only 1-2%... I would guess they are just lagging due to low trade volume.

I wish the Yahoo Exchange site would include BTC.

1 Thai Ladyboy = 3 BTC  Shocked
1 gr. of Opium = 1 BTC   Sad
1 Thaistick = 1 BTC  Grin

Is that overpriced?

How do the exchanges rate this stuff?

Wow, according to alexa:

exchangerates24.com is getting 16,748 pageviews per day

I'd never heard of it because I always use xe.com... maybe I should email them about btc and cite exchangerates24.

XE.com sent an interesting reply.

Quote
Hi Roger,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately we don't list virtual 'currencies' in our services. If Bitcoin becomes a globally accepted standard, is traded openly on the currency markets, is assigned an ISO4217 currency code by the ISO and there are multiple and available rate sources, we may decide to include it in our services but we don't have any plans to do so at present.

Thank you for your interest in our company and services.

Sincerely,

XE Currency Services Team

I suppose now we should try contacting the ISO4217 people about bitcoins.

I got more a similar reply. They wrote they don't do virtual currencies at this time.
As they explicitly wrote "at this time" it sounds a little bit like they would if demand was high enough.

Good stuff, I started this just as a 'check this out' thread but glad folks found something to do with it.

last week I used their money transfer service XE-Trade to send money from GBP in the UK to € in Spain & to $ in the US, they were great for this with fantastic personal service over the phone & easy to set it all up via Internet, I shall ask them to look in to also taking/sending BTC deposits as part of their currency exchange &  transfer services offered & will let you know their response
