During the last few weeks I had several deposit issues with Crytpsy. Only about 1 in 10 transactions went smoothly.

I had the following issues:
- deposits never arrived in my Cryptsy account - I had to contact support first.
- deposits took a long time to arrive (> 3 days)
- deposits were stuck a long time in status "pending" (despite having several hundred confirmations)

I had this issues with several different coins - not just with a single one. So it seems to be a general problem.

Cryptsy, can you please give us an official statement regarding those deposit issues? When will they be fixed?

They had a database bug, where people could withdraw huge sums.
Their soloution is not to speak about it. I see my money lost. (Support Ticket requests over and over 1 Month old, still not solved!)
So i loosed the trust in cryptsy

Bter has also the same/similar leak.

My last IXC deposit to Cryptsy took ~40 hours to show up, and my last DVC deposit is 21 hours late and still counting. They even spent the DVC from the deposit address long ago, yet no sign of it in my account.

I opened support tickets this morning, but still waiting and no answer 8 hours later. What is up with these deposit issues?

I did several transfers to Cryptsy in the last few days.

Only 1 out of 12 was there in time (within an hour). For all the others I had to wait 2-4 days.

Cryptsy, that's not acceptable!

Feeling the burn too with Cryptsy and Bter, deposits not happening. It shouldn't matter whether direct from pool or wallet, should it?

Many services can't handle generation txns. As long as the pool is sending as a normal txn, it shouldn't make a difference. Just check blockchain.info to make sure the txn actually has confirms and it didn't come directly from "Newly Generated Coins" like most Eligius payouts.

I've moved on to Vircurex. They've processed all my deposits, trades, and withdrawals today quickly. Breath of fresh air after dealing with Cryptsy!

I too have an Emerald deposit in limbo.  Over three and a half days now and over 12,000 confirmations...nothing.  I opened a ticket with support and "Jim" replied with a generic "please send the transaction ID, amount, etc".  All the info they asked for was already included in the original ticket.  So, they either auto-reply to all incoming deposit tickets with a form letter or they simply don't read them.

Now that I look, I have a DEV deposit in the same boat.

If someone, ANYONE would start a professional, reliable exchange, the coin community would beat a path to your door.

This. So long as you use crappy services, crappy services will abound, because they can. Demanding explanations and all is great, but it should come with 1. thoroughly researching before said service is ever used to determine the likelihood of your eventually needing to demand explanations and 2. the termination of use of said service if and when incompetence and irresponsibility are evident.

See here.

And who exactly would you consider "non-crappy"?

It seems to me that ALL the exchanges are crap.  Just different crap levels.

Learn to WoT, for one thing.

For the other, it's not a matter of choosing the least bad participant in a group that yields results. It's choosing those participants that are actually good. If there aren't any, you'll have to figure something else out.

Imagine you're in a restaurant. On reading the menu you notice that various poisons are listed as ingredients in the dishes. Is your reaction to stay and order the least poisonous thing?

"But MPOE-PR, we must eat!"

Well, until such time as you're able to recognize a sane restaurant with real food, you'll have to forage. It won't be especially convenient. But as long as you commit to doing it right, you'll survive, and it'll make having a cooked meal later on all the more splendid.

There are not, hence my question.  I see you have no suggestion for decent online exchanges so I can only assume you know of none.

So, I must find the restaurant with the lowest poison level to avoid foraging or exchanging with the mystery natives in a parking lot.   Undecided  That is until someone comes along and does it right.

Unfortunately I have deposit issues with Cryptsy too. It has been happening now and then, with some coins, but they always fixed this, but this time it is different.

This time it is with Elacoin & Megacoin. They do not show on Cryptsy since Jan 25th (4 days), my support tickets are left without ANY comment for more than 60hrs.

I am feeling helpless and scammed.

Same for me. 4 Deposits (ELC, 2for NET, NEC) are not on my balance since more than 3 days. No reply to my support ticket too...

Do you know what "else" means? The very point is that no, the answer is not to use a service that doesn't work on the grounds that you can't find any that are better. If you cannot find a service run by competent people delivering what they propose to deliver, then you're stuck figuring something else out. Not "avoiding" the less convenient options on the grounds that they'll take work and thought, or that they're different than what you expected and therefore scary and bad.

Seriously, if this is how your attitude towards poison works, how are you still alive?! Why are you even interested in Bitcoin? If you're so married to convenience you'd rather be swindled with a fake smile and hand-holding than take advantage of the very powerful tools available to you for figuring out for yourself how to not get swindled, it may well be that BTC isn't really your thing.

LOL.  You are quite funny. Not sure if that's intentional.   Smiley   I haven't been swindled by anyone, I guess I just have a higher poison tolerance than you.  BUT is seems Cryptsy has fixed their poison problem with their new balance screen.  Tested two deposits today and they went in in minutes.  Thanks for all your "help".
