Hello! I'd like to announce a small project I've been working on over the New Year break:

Coin PNG (http://coinpng.com/) let's you generate up-to-date (updated every time the image is loaded) conversions of virtual currencies and fiat currencies, and vice versa. All for free (or until my server dies).

Features:
- Pull prices from different exchanges
- Customizable Font and feel (Suggestions on which fonts to add are welcome!)

USE: For example, you'd like to sell a $25 Wolf shirt and you want to post it on forums, or websites. Here is the image you would post: http://coinpng.com/e6fea4b6.png

Any questions, suggestions, please feel free to contact me! :-)

Cool.

The PNG URL pushes out into a horizontal scroll. http://browsershots.org/http://coinpng.com/

Holy crap.

I never realized you could announce free services here.

+1, too.

Good job!

Thanks, j0b314 and ReCat. TheButterZone, I'll look into it. Although I haven't replicated the image proxy here :-)

I think that CoinIMG might've been a better name. PNG in it makes it sound kind of a technical thing, just oddly unfitting. But maybe that's just me. *shrug*

Anyways I've taken the CoinIMG.com domain name. I decided I want to take a stab at making a service like this just to sharpen my skills. XD

May the (friendly) competition begin! Tongue

(Eventually..)

Haha, cool! You want to make a trade for that domain? I figured coinPNG can be said out loud as "coin ping". :-)

I have a very similar project. My quality is probably lower and I lack several features like fonts and such, so I still encourage you to check out this one, but if you're looking for another exchange or conversion to/from mBTC, check out http://www.youmeandbtc.com/p/price-converter_7.html.

Thanks!

OP, want to remove MtGox, or do you want to drop it down the list from default, in case it rises from the dead?

Also, would it make any sense to switch the image generation to something like https://github.com/vrotaru/btcticker aka http://btcticker.appspot.com and http://youmeandbtc.com/bitcoin-price-converter/ does, where you just have to edit the URL, instead of having the site generate a unique filename for each set of variables?
