change the algorithm x11 and add POS

Changing to other "old" specs doesn't matter.

To succeed MRC needs:

- Innovation, something that makes MRC outstanding, and MRC/USD isn't it.
or
- merchant acceptance

But why the F*** doesn't the dev promote this coin? The only one doing anything is halibit (Thanks Halibit for trying ).

Many of us put our hash/electric into this coin and the dev just does jack , you sir are a F***ing A HOLE !

It sounds here like some babies waiting for their milk bottle Roll Eyes...

Halibit knows what to do; he is working hard but it takes its time. I'm sure he will add more coins to MRC market before he starts marketing MRC itself so that people can directly start trading it on alcurEX. For merchant acceptance there's also a special payment service planned, but therefore we first need to generate a greater market cap. He also hired one person for marketing. So don't be so impatient and use the low prices and buy up as much coins as you can Smiley.

mr edd: I think it's not really motivating for all people working on this project if you use such things like "F***ing A HOLE !" in your first post. That is not necessary, sorry...

I also dedicated 2 months of mining MRC

I don't think it's dead.
I wish there was more volume but i am keeping optimistic for MRC in the long term.
I see the progress on alcurEX and even though it took longer than expected the site is brilliant.
The interface, the functions, the registered USD exchange.

I believe the team needs to maybe organise better, you can tell they are not experienced project managers but they are believers and in my opinion are doing a great job, by taking the "better safe than sorry" approach.

this is a long term project, i;m sure that in twelve months from now we will be seeing things very different.

MRC should stay away from PoS though, in my opinion.

I feel embarrassed as i don't understand how POS mining works and what advantages can be taken of it. I'm happy how the current mining works and i also don't see the necessity to change it.

Maybe someone could explain POS. Do i need GPUs for POS or does it just use the "stake" in my wallet? Is this a damage for regular gpu miners? And do people with a big stake get exponentially more coins?

Sorry for all that questions. Maybe it's a little off-topic. It's generally interest and doesn't refer to this coin.

You let your wallet open, and that way you help to secure the network. You do use some of the CPU power, but you get 'interest'.

You do get inflation - increased money supply, so value can drop a bit. But, if you enable stake minting, you don't lose dollar value, as you have more coins.

I think that if this coin don't attract more miners, POS will be necessary.

We will see what happens in 2 weeks, when N will be 14.

I like YAC, 'parent' of MRC and I ALWAYS enable stake minting.

Adding a little bit PoS to microcoin (about 2-3 %) but keeping everything else as it is (algo, rewards, ..) would not hurt the coin price IMO.
I would vote against any change to pure PoS or algo changes (unless something is broken), but adding mild PoS could have a positive effect to MRC.

change the algorithm x11 and add POS

Support x11- something new:

  • algorithm uses eleven hashing functions from the Blake algorithm to the Keccak algorithm making it very secure.
  • gives fast hashes for both GPU’s and CPU’s.
  • keeps GPU’s over 30% cooler.
  • Being more complicated than a SHA256 ASIC implementation, allow for a longer period of mining for CPU/GPU users.

Support POS - consume less power:

Proof-of-stake (POS) is a method of securing a cryptocurrency network through requesting users to show ownership of a certain amount of currency. This process secures the network and gradually produces new coins over time without consuming significant computational power.
Proof-of-work (POW) run hashing algorithms to validate electronic transactions

Can implement both POS and POW such as in Peercoin can makes a malicious attack on the network more difficult.

Also support new improved wallet - faster transactions - wallet open faster - logo smaller - brand blue in wallet colours / icons etc.

Innovative idea - couple the purchasing of AlcuEx shares to mrc (trade directly on AlcuEx) and use % of AlcuEx trading profits to automatically buy mrc for btc.
