Looks good.

I think the most fair distribution of NEU will be if you limit the max amount of BTC to be received.
It is better to have 1000 people sent by 0.1 btc than 100 sent by 1 btc.

Two months is enough to find 1000 people at least.

Okay so first things first. This is not a fork off NXT, as we didn't have access to their code when we started writing ours. And we will not release the source-code, at least for a while, giving people time to accustom themselves to this type of coin after it has gone live. We do realize that by choosing Java, this coin will evolve in the shadow of Nxt, just as Nxt did behind the Bitcoin, but that looks like a pattern already, which we don't mind being a part of.

The speed of transactions will improve drastically in the next 2 weeks of improvements (we will cut on the nodes, increasing their responsibility over more wallets). Also you guys should keep an eye out for the GIVEAWAY that is bound to happen tomorrow, time to be announced 2 hours beforehand.

Certainly, and maybe setup a neutron foundation account that would invest 1BTC and invests its part in sponsoring different developments and promotion of the coin (eg funding bounties). I feel this is missed in the nxt community where the stakeholders are expected to take that role, but it's understandable at least some of them hold their coins

Open your source.
Show some code and white paper for a descentralized exchange system. (what can be trade?)
+ descentralized email exchange where people must pay to contact me, and I must pay to contact others.

Need also a precise explication about how double spending is prevented.
(and the code for the techguys to check)

Then we can talk.

A completely different coin in itself. It is not an altcoin based on someone else's work. We have written the code from scratch, and we have been working on it for the past 5 months. The code is written in Java, is closed-source, and we plan on releasing it 6 months after the official launch of the coin.

Why so late? Is it full of bugs and you are afraid others will discover them too soon? Or is it ugly spaghetti code without any documentation or unit tests? Smells highly suspicious.

We chose the Java programming language mainly because we could not achieve what we wanted to, if we just made another copy of the SHA-256 or SCRYPT altcoins. Plus, Neutron does not need to be mined, as the Genesis Block which is 10,000,000 coins will be released on 1 March 2014, so SHA-256 or SCRYPT does not help us in any matter whatsoever. You may say that this coin is pre-mined, but you would be wrong because there is no mining done here, just a distribution of coins, the price of which we cannot control.

You sit on the full bag of all the coins now, so by selling the bag to the public (oh look! these fools trade our coin for $1 a piece! quick, dump the remaining 5 million coins!) you can easily influence the coin (so after our dumping the coin is 1000 pieceses a dollar? buy those 10 million back, we'll still have 4990 thousand left Smiley

Any feature currently announced can disappear in a whim

there goes the code stability ... if we are too lazy to support something, we'll just throw it out of the window.

Because we need a unique currency with completely different concepts that back it up. In our case, the Neutron features near-instant transaction speeds (91.037 sec. is the fastest speed that we achieved in our tests)

90 seconds is instant? So what is then non-instant? 1 week?
Some quick coins with 30 or 60 sec blocks come quite close to this.
CC transactions are under 5 seconds usually (though they are centralized...). Beat it.

Can you imagine the benefits alone that a quick transaction brings? The power to buy anything in under 2 minutes, anywhere, anytime. No 1 hour-long transactions, no paper money, no credit cards, no banks, no eyes to spy on your economical activity. Now you can achieve complete anonymity with a dash of speed.

Complete anonymity? Just wait for zerocoin. I'd guess people that are into some sort of money laundering usually don't care that much whether their monthly profit will launder in 15 minutes or 5 minutes Smiley

3. Uniquely created code from start to finish

So a recycled and polished university project?

8. A client ban/appeal system

You have too much money? We ban you. You can send your appeals at /dev/null.

At the end of the IPO period, NEU coins will be released to the founders according to the Shareholders Chart (you get a number of Neutrons depending on the percentage of shares that you own) For instance, if you own a share of 31% you will receive 3,100,000 NEU.

And close to the end of IPO period, you can just easily take all the BTC's in the pocket and buy effectively some 50% share Smiley
Perhaps even repeat it multiple times Smiley

Current blockchain state: IN DEVELOPMENT
Current website state: LAUNCHED
Current forum state: IN DEVELOPMENT
Current pie-chart state: LIVE
Current support state: LIVE
Current Android and iOS wallets state: IN DEVELOPMENT
Current code state: CLOSED

So you actually just have a web with pie-chart done? Not much ...

Be sure to also send us an email with the following details at funding@neutrons.us
- the BTC transaction ID (TRXID) do not send us your address as we have no use for it
- a name to be written in the "Founders" page of neutrons.us website

Cool. How long until someone writes a bot that will monitor the block chain for transactions to the donation address and send out emails "the transaction XYZ is mine, my founder name is ABC."? If your code is as secure as this, then god save us ...

Also, the necessity of banning system suggests that this is rather snake-oil crypto secure just because nobody can see easily under the lid and once (ONCE, not IF) the client is decompiled, I guess first usable attack will follow shortly thereafter.

Show us at least some whitepaper, or some more technical description of the algorithm, so we can verify that the algorithms used are solid.
Otherwise it is just another vaporware project.

I clicked on the bitcoin sign on the pie chart website.
He auto started my multibit asking if he needed to put the payment info on it.
Could this have infected my multibit and thus having my keys stolen ?

Or is this a legit feature?

ok so you wanna clone Nxt.

you get the java source easily now and need 6 months to study it and make adjustments to open source it so it seems legit but you don't even need to do that when you collect the btc.

but seriously, couldn't you just name it differently thatn NEON and NEXT , you had to also keep the blue N part?  Shocked

You can press on that button 100 times, it will happen the exact same thing every single time, which is to copy the destination BTC address into your Multibit client and that's it. You decide how much you want to support with, or if you really want to send your donation or not.

As for tomorrow, we will post some updates on the main post of this thread later on.

We said it already, we are aware that our timing is bad, but that wasn't up to us, 2 developers (1 is mainly absent for 3 weeks or so) cannot build an entire system from scratch in under 6 months. Five have already passed and we still need more time. It would have been a god send if the NXT source code would have been released before we started working on this project, we would fork on it, and add the concepts that make NEU an original coin. But now we are too deep to back out, too much has been invested so far (energy, time, relations) Also we are pretty confident that if we put NEU's source code up for sale, there would we at least 2 big buyers, the code is that good.

Says the guy with NXT in his sig.

Ok, go ahead and send him your money.  No skin off my back.

I hope no one buys any Nxt because I don't want the price to be driven higher.  You can't have my Nxt either because I'm not selling.

PLEASE BUY NEUTRONS INSTEAD!

PLEASE BUY NEUTRONS INSTEAD!

Not 1 time did we say "please" invest/buy/support. You can if you want to, if you don't want to that's fine, the coin will go by it's natural development phase with or without me, you or anyone else investing 0.001 BTC or not. We made the "BTC for shares" thing available, so that people won't go about and think that we will release the coin with XX% in our back pockets. The purpose is to let people decide their value.

On a funnier note,
"with Neutron you can buy a piece of KFC with 1 grams of gold made from 1's and 0's and show it to you friend on Skype on opposite side of world!"

This was genuinely too funny not to +1 you  Cheesy

Can you explain this further?

"we achieved a staggering speed of 91.037 sec between the sender's sending command and the actual arrival of the coins at the targeted address."

Is 91 sec for irrevocably confirmed?

What is the speed for acked but unconfirmed? Bitcoin is 1 or 2 seconds. That is staggeringly fast, not 91 secs.
