I live in Texas, it's fucking hot with TONS of sun.
How much power could a solar panel(s) bring?
Would it be enough to mine with even an FGPA (eh, I forgot the name...) miner?

solar power is very expensive to buy. your best bet is to hook the solar panels to current home/mining location then when the sun makes the electricity it just adds to the grid. (your bill is lower) if you make more electricity than consumption your power company will send you a check each month. i have a plan using the sun and fresnel lenses in a dome which would heat water creating steam which is converted to electricity. hooked up to a grid which a) pays and b) makes distilled water. tidbit: 80% of the worlds electricity is made from steam. go with what has already proven to work. Wink

tidbit #2: the amount of energy which hits the earth each year is enough to replace all sources of energy on the earth combine. we have known this since 1905. yet we still use fucking oil and nuclear fucking power plants. somebody please shoot someone for me, im young and dont want to goto jail.

Someone should hook up solar and skip the DC to AC to DC steps. Just go DC right from the panel. Of course you will need intermediate hardware to get the correct volts and amps for each component. Radio Shack will come in handy.

Maybe there might be a way to setup a BIOS & OS on a 6990?
I'm SURE that would be faster!
