Hey there,

I've been UFO mining a bit yesterday and got my coins into the wallet a few hours later.

Today it took pretty long to get the wallet online, but it's up and running again at current block nr 27256.
The problem that I notice is that I've only 2 / 3 connections though.
In other words, there's a low number of wallet's online.

I guess it might be a good idea to clean up the node list in the ufo.conf

my current getpeerinfo command lists different nodes from the ones I got in my conf file, this might be the reason why the initial sync is
taking a while.

To keep our Ufo's flying we need some more nodes, otherwise the confirmations for transactions wil also get stuck.

btw, here's my current getinfo:

"version" : 1000000,
"protocolversion" : 60001,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : XXX ,
"blocks" : 27256,
"connections" : 3,
"proxy" : "",
"difficulty" : 0.97757988,
"testnet" : false,
"keypoololdest" : 1390255485,

"paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
"mininput" : 0.00010000,
"unlocked_until" : 0,

Hope it helps.

Anyone keeping the original/official chain moving?

This may force me to unlist the coins (the easy part), and without a moving chain, no one would be able to withdraw.

I can't withdraw coins anyway. Have tried for a few days. Just says an error has happened and try again later.

Weird. Try the support forum of the exchange site. I was able to deposit and withdraw just fine. unfocus can solve your problem there.

do you have to leave just one satoshi?
PM me your details

thanks. I just decided to get rid of them though. It was kinda odd that when I sold them I was left a negative balance. let me know if you need to check that out. It was only negative .01

We can't update the initial post with the nodes. When the new thread is posted we should get a revisit of the node list. How I make new node from my wallet?

-- We can't update the initial post with the nodes.
I'm aware off this, only the original poster or a moderator can.

-- When the new thread is posted we should get a new revision of the node list.
A new or updated node list might be good to post anyway, it helps keeping the current wallet connections online.
We need those for the confirmations.
Although with the new wallet coming soon, the older versions should no longer be kept online,
they might interfere with the current block chain.

how to be sure if your own wallet chain is right ?
Are there any forks in the current chain ?
I saw some code posted earlier here, the new wallet code takes care of a few things, so above questions might no longer be a problem.

-- How do I make a new node from my wallet?
I'm not sure on that one, it has to be configured to work as a node is my guess.
Your own ISP IP adress will be the one that has to be reachable from the outside world as a node.
Your Firewall or router settings might need a change too.

This has been done before, someone should know how it works / which setting is needed.

Exchange pretty much dead - no volume today. 24h volume: 0.13115 BTC. Nobody wants to buy for 14 satoshi and almost no one wants to sell for 12 satoshi.

Anyone wants to buy or sell? Smiley

The whole exchange is slow, its new and not a lot of interest picked up in the last week or so. Its not just that coin, its every coin on the exchange. if a few of the coins on the Scifi exchange were on a big exchange it would help those coins as well as help the scifi exchange. For example if a coin like UFO was on a large exchange and interest and/or sales volume picked up, this would promote buying and selling of the coin on Scifi as well. Maybe add a few other coins to the exchange that are on other exchanges, coins with a scifi/space type theme.

Right. It would be good to see UFO on some other "general" exchange as well.

There are a few coins on CryptoRush exchange which is another newer "general" exhange that might pair well with the Scifi exchanges theme,  SaturnCoin and Marscoin for example.

Kahir, just out of curiousity how many coins do you have put  away or have purchased on any market. It is selfish to consider destroying a coin because you think the effort is too great when so many already have invested time and BTC into it. Either have patience for what they are trying to accomplish or accept it as it is. There are many coins out there that face the same problem but they still overcome and prevail.

I agree with SummersideGuy we need helping hands right now, not the contrary. I know kahir you are not saying as a bad intention but we need to keep working to make this work.

I am fixing the code, but I also have to do work (some freelance stuff) this week so I can't spent all my time programming. I am spending lots of hours on the night so we can have this new wallet as soon as possible. So far my test fork code (at block 28000) it's compiling and syncing to the network. Next I will try to test a fork at an upcoming to see if it stops syncing.

Will give another update as soon as I get more info.

We also have to agree on some stuff like at which block we will fork (to give everyone time to update wallets).

Hey folks,

I think we should get together and announce a bounty of whatever amount of ufos one deems appropriate to donate to those who are willing to give up their time fixing and continuing the project.

I am willing to part with 100k ufos to guys like itos or cisahasa should they be able to get things right

Apparently its not much but a bunch of more people could make a difference to stimulate the devs
