5 ETH - it's not such a big sum. Best decision will be diversification your sum between 5 new ICOs (try to invest on pre-sale stage).
More risk - more income.

If I had 5 ETH to invest, I would just let them stay in ETH.
ETH is literally the safest coin for the long term. Don't put money on some coins over top 100 for long term, you don't know anything bout them.
Just my 2 cents.

If I were you, I would have not invested in any other cryptocurrency cause ETH is the best altcoin and there are no better choices to hold for long term than ETH Smiley. I'll hold 5 ETH only without investing any other cryptocurrency. I also think it's the best option Smiley)

Well 5 ETH it's a good money for start. When I came in crypto I investd 1 ETH and I thought that this is a big money for newbie.
Anyway If you're don't affraid that you can lost this money I see some options here
1) You can buy some coin . Of corse before that you should do your research and only after that you'll buy them. You can use 2 or 3 ETH.
This is good chance to know more about exchanges, coins, pump and dump.
2) You can send this money to the ICO, of course before that you should do your research about ICO and you can be sure that this ICO won't be a scam.
This is good chance to know more about scam, price dump, losing money and maybe you're keep faith in ico after this.

Yes true and I agree, as long as we are sure that the private key in MEW is safe and not stored on the computer then I will let ETH, ETH prospect keep improving and this we can see from the daily volume of transactions that continue to increase.

If you had 5 ETH, where would you invest for long-term 2 years hodl benefit?

It is not a huge amount, so I would say just keep it as ETH.
If (when!) the ETH price goes up significantly, you could maybe siphon off a small percentage to put into other projects.

I would either invest in Ethereum itself and not touch the coin in 2 years or I would have to invest in XEM/NEM because I believe this coin will be something worth the investment. I have a lot to learn from this coin but I just discovered this coin might be one of the few coins we need to keep an eye on now and in the future.

Too many scam ico now you need to do dip research about ico if you want to invest. 2 years is enough to support project like essentia but whitelisted is closed with 100k registration form. If latter you have chance to buy essentia on exchange it will be good investment. Or omix from shivom project.

I believe that ETH has a prosperous future like BTC. Although the price is still low, I consider it to be the small version of bitcoin. So absolutely yes! If I had 5 ETH, I would have invested in it not only for two years, but also more than that. It is trustworthy and not sort of a scam. If you believe in a coin that will prosper in the future, then I recommend investing your half fortune in it as well as keeping some for other coins like Bitcoin.

If I have 5 eth I still better to trade it with another coin, because if long-term I think still less big profit, with trading we can more quickly develop our capital.
I think it's the most efficient at the moment, and maybe it's the way we get rich quick

I would invest it in Project Shivom and Blockshipping.
Not would but already did.
Project Shivom reached 35 mil USD hard cap easily couple of days ago.
Now Blockshipping ICO is ongoing. If You check their Whitepaper, they have some really cool ideas regarding their token.
Take a look ICOs: Acorn Collective and Cardstack as well.
Thrive and Sapiens but they are still not on exchange.

And good luck!

If I have 5 eth and want to invest long term (2 years) of course I will hold it. I am sure if I hold eth for 2 years it will get a huge profit. Or I will invest in btc, ltc, xrp. These three coins have a huge volume of transactions and definitely have a good development, I think it's worth it if used for long-term investing.

It seems that good news is waiting for the eth, and you should wait for them, wait at least a couple of months, and then sell or hold.

i agree, some altcoins we try to hold for long term may not rise or less profit than we think, not any altcoin can be pumped in the future, so i think it would be better if we trade bt cor altcoins instead with 5 ETH, it is more profitable if we know how to trade probably, however you should know trading has its own risks ,you can loss your money if you don't know anything about trading altcoins.

Well, the simplest answer is trading and investing to the ICO.
But I think it's better to start with trading, at least I did it that. First, with the trading I knew about different coins, and only then when You will have more experience of researching  - different coins, exchanges, platforms, wallets. Only after that you can try  investing to the ICO.
Now there is a lot of scams on the ICO market, so I consider it more risky than trading. Because on trading you can lose 10 or 20 or 30 or even 50 percent, but if you're investing to the scam ICO you'll lose everything.

True, even i don't think ETH will having good increasing so much by the end of this year. So, by splitting that amount and doing to invest into some other coins for short-term invest could be have good profit by it's volatile price.

That's around $3300 for ETH, how dare you say it's not a big amount? What a dumb answer, even I think you are afraid to invest that amount.

I'll hold 5 ETH only without investing any other cryptocurrency. I also think it's the best option Smiley)
Because you are joining bounty, so you don't need to spend your ETH to "other" altcoins, also it's not that good idea to put all of your money (and it's 5 ETH) in one basket.

First of all, I have them. secondly, I am holding Ethereum as I am waiting for the pump. The bull run will start this year - it goes without saying. ETH is for holding.

I would hold 60% in Ethereum and I would spread the other 40% into some great altcoins. One of my favorites right now is SENT, they are doing great work and the marketcap is still very low. I think it is one of the projects that are still fyling under the radar.
If there is some crypto coin whom you can trust when it comes to that of the holding for some good period other than that of the bitcoin, then that crypto coin is none other than that of the ETH. Most of the investors are holding ETH for longer period and that they are very much satisfied with the way ETH is behaving in the international market and that they are quite sure that doing so will help them in making money.

Well, there is no need to invest, if you have got 5 ETH then just hold it for two years. After two years, holding it would be very profitable for you, as the price of ETH will appreciate in value. Some pundits are saying that it would cross $5k in two years time.
