I signed up to post in the poll about finding a good name for 0.0001 BTC. All those proposals were good efforts but in the end pretty shitty.
But I think I got it! :
1 bitbuck = 0.0001 bitcoin

bitcoin --> BTC
bitbuck --> BB for example

It makes perfectly sense! If a bitcoin reaches 10 000 USD then 1 bitbuck would be exactly 1 dollar or 1 buck.
If bitcoin goes even higher then it would be let's say 2 dollar for 1 bitbuck.

Alternatively you could say '1 bitdollar' but I almost choked trying to pronounce that word. Pronouncing '1 bitbuck' on the other hand is like a hot knife through butter.

If you like it just thank me by sending me a bitbuck:

Thats a pretty cool name the bitbuck, how did you come up with?
But why do you think the name should be changed to Bitbuck from microbtc?
I do think bitbuck is catchier, but why reinvent the cycle
oh ok,

I just saw Bitbuck is lower than Mbtc i do think its catchy then and could be used,
we do have really no name for a value lower than Mbtc
BB is catchy good idea.

I googled 'bitbuck' and it didn't show anything. The unit is 'bitbuck and not 'Bitbucks'. Even if the latter is copyrighted what would that mean?

In any case, changing currencies is not just a numbers game. I witnessed the Belgian francs to euro conversion (1 euro = 40 francs). My grand mother still thinks in francs. She even bought last year 10 rolls (7+3 for free) of toilet paper from a street vendor for 50 euro thinking she had done a good deal because she was counting in francs. Changing in currency takes about 10 years to adjust. Old people will never adjust. The closer the value of the new currency is to the former, the smoother this transition.
Actually something strange happened. Since old people had the most difficulty transitioning to the euro they started to pay more and more with proton (some kind of prepaid visa card) instead of cash. It was just more convenient for them to learn this new technology when using the new currency instead of counting the new coins.

So ideally we need to have a unit for a fraction of a bitcoin which will be as close as possible to value of the dollar. We need a bitcoin 'stock' split of 10 000 - 1. Is that possible?

I don't like the term bitbuck, reminds me of fiat too much.
